I already got this fixed, but I wanted to post some pictures as proof that forged Rays (& Volks) are capable of cracking.
No idea how it happened, maybe a pothole, but no new signs of damage on the inside or outside of the rim aside from the crack.
considering how the front of your wheel looks I am not surprised. Keep it out of pot holes and off the curbs/median and you should be all right.
there's only 1 part of the rim that is a little bit screwed up (it's in the upper left corner) and that happened years ago.
The rest of the rim is fine - dirty, but fine.
Sorry to rain on everyone's Rays parade, but they crack just like any other rim.
Ill still take my chances with the forged wheels. Pretty sure my choice will more likely yield results like this:
before they yield results like this:
but at the end of the day does it really matter.. both are now completely useless only thing is it will cost you $800 to replace it while it cost the other guy $200

Flawed logic... a crack is one thing but the spokes shattering is another. I'm sure it has happened to Volks but the likelihood of that disaster is very very slim compared to some bootleg wheels.
