Red Z with Black rims

Hey im thinking about painting my stock 04 rims black and i was wondering if anyone had pics of the stock rims painted black on a red 350z, or just black rims in general on a red 350z. Thanks

please don't paint your stock rim black or any other color it'll look tacky. your car will look 100% better with a nice set of after market rims a wide one at that. and as far as color goes i don't think black will enhance your red car, go with polished aluminium or satin and no chrome please! only color car that would benefit from having black rims are the white z's with dark tint and smoked tail light.(thats how my car is set up)

well i already have smoked lights and tinted windows so i think it may look pretty cool...i like the black rims on the red GTR's

ImWeeZzel 05-10-2011 08:19 PM

goldenmm 05-10-2011 08:39 PM

feel free to post pics of the stock rims painted any color.....i just dont really have the money for rims at the moment so i figured i might paint them until i get newer rims later haha

DubNium 05-10-2011 08:43 PM

if you dont drive hard and just in it for the looks..just go with p45 Rotas..but you will get flame for having "fake rims" but i have to say...they are pretty good deals on them ...well my .02,you should go for the black..i didnt go with them instead pick the silver Nismo lmgt and sorta regret the color.

If you mean the stock rims on GTR's, I believe you're doing it wrong (not black). :dunno:

Cool what else would you like him to do?

delacroix3721 05-11-2011 04:47 AM

Unfortunately, I'll be able to help out here.

Bought a red/black 03 the other week with painted stock wheels... they're not painted the best, but you'll get the idea. They're going to get painted again soon, and will stay that way till I can buy some new ones.

I can take a better pic when I get home from work.

Cool story bro.... Guess that means if it's not the same as your z it's not cool

OP- I have a red z with black wheels, but they are rfp1s. Just keep them stock and save up to buy better wheels

vex008 05-11-2011 06:14 AM

my advice would be determined by what stock wheel you have. there is one stock wheel that I think isn't even worth the time.
maybe try getting a set of used spacers and doing the wheels in white.
and yes it is hard to keep clean and if you are lazy then do the black or some dark color.

Mcutali 05-11-2011 07:38 AM

Dont paint stock wheels (never look good) just get a new after market set with the color you want.

Having your stock wheels PROFESSIONALLY painted is a GREAT idea.
In fact, you can usually have them powdercoated for far less w better results. Id imagine it costing you 45-60 a wheel w the tires off of course.

so for 2 sets of VERY good spacers and all 4 wheels powdercoated, and remounted, youre probably looking at 500 bucks .. no too shabby.

bmccann101 05-11-2011 01:39 PM

ha, whats priceless is i didnt even see page one.. FAIL. All the same pics already posted. Davidv was even in before me.. d#mnitt!

But point proven we all used google and took more time to photobucket thist stuff and add it thatn you did googling it..and for that, yer fired. :)

westpak 05-15-2011 05:51 PM

hey easy on the first red Z LOL that is my son's and he doesn't have the budget to get wheels so we powdercoated them and had them pinstriped, I think for stock rims they look pretty good

yeah it looks great, it was the only one he liked besides the Nismo, but since the Nismo is no longer available he went with the Veilside, and I have to admit I helped him on that one

Actually, nope! I happily stripped the horrid spray paint off the wheels this past weekend and they'll stay that way till I can get some new wheels.

nismo_nate 05-16-2011 06:11 AM
