Tires Help( I've Search and Read )
I just got a set of used Work Meister S1 with the following offset:
19" 9.5 +24 19" 10.5 +23 With tires 255/35/19 and 275/35/19. That's the norm for those offset that i read. I'm looking for more meat on the tires to protect the the lips for DD. I'm not looking to roll/pull my fenders. I checked out the 265/35/19 and 285/35/19 sizes which has 2.091% which is less than 3% for the VDC to be happy. Are there any better tires combo for more meat without fender mod? I don't mind running spacer, but haven't research on what size i need yet. Thanks. Edit: Forgot that i'm on JIC FLTA 2 coilever with about 1" 1".25 drop. |

Correct. Difference in circumference is 2.09 percent. Proper operation of VDC is questionable. |
Pat, that size is about 15 mm farther out towards the fender edge than what i used to run before i cut my fenders etc.... fit fine, but when i added a 5mm spacer, i rubbed. axis 9.5 w 275 30 20 at +25 offset.
i did the math, that gave me about 95 mm from the back of the wheel ( rotor back pad) to the fender edge... so 95 mm was ok at -1.5 camber, but 100mm rubbed. im dropped on Stance LX tho too.. not sure what your set up was, but i assume youre dropped too. the wheel and offset you listed is about 110mm. if you have negatice camber they will likely fit, but if you have lower camber arms, etc and a fairly straight up n down tire, expect to rub. Luckily rolling the rear fenders appears REEEALY simple man. totally worth having those wheels at that offset. If you are looking to protect the edge w a squeezed larger tire, youd be wanting to run a 295 or a 305 since they are cheaper than most 295s i saw...., and thats whats gonna get you.. you could get away w a light roll if you wanted to run stretched fit to clear that fender lip..., but you want the opposite. |
