tpms question
i have been looking at a few of the threads and have been getting a little confused on how the tpms will work on a new tire. i going to purchase a set of rims for my z and want to put a set of tpms on them. can i just go out and buy a new set of tpms or used and attach them to the new rim? or do i have to do something special to make the work with the tire pressaure sesnor/light? im assuming id have too but i just dont see what i would have to do. also after its all said and done would i be able to just switch back to my stock set of rims and would the senor go back to reading them? they will be going on an 08z

the sensor is your valve stem.. its just a plastic device connected to it.. google nissan tpms and image search. If you get some fancy multipiece wheel no, they wont fit w out adapters.. cahnces are, your wheel choise will be standard and you will be fine.

and just putting them on the wheel will make the link of the car? i only ask cuz i dont wanna see the tire pressaure light on all the time. i hate driving my cars with any lights on lol
|
Correct.

do i have to buy any special type of tpms or just ones that work on an 08z?
|
im still confused becasue the more i read some people are saying that they are taking them to the dealership to get reprogramed and synced? does this have to be done??

Had you looked there or in the Top 100 Questions thread, you would have seen the explanation you seek. |
oh boy.. i didnt know i had to write those numbers down before i had the shop put on my new wheels.. i have a whole new set in my car...
FML. Fuh fuh fantastic. |
Write what numbers? The IDs are electronically transmitted from the sensors to the tool then uploaded into the ECU from the tool.
