Toyo R888's on stock 350Z wheels

I'm sure this has been discussed here before, so if it has I'm sorry. I searched the forums, the Internet, etc.

Stock 2007 Nismo wheels are
Front 245/40-18
Rear 265/35-19

I can't find exact match R888's, and I know nothing about wheel size and fitment. Is there another size R888 that would fit on my stock wheels with no problems?

Thank you for the help!

265/35/18 front
295/30/19 rear

Is there anything I should know about using a wider tire? And issues or other things I need to do to make it work?

350zsunshinefl Dec 17, 2012 05:28 AM

advanz33 nailed it.

only thing different is you will have more lateral grip, lose a few MPG's.

Why do you want Toyo R888 tires? With question like above questions me why you want a R-Compound tire.

C5_vette Dec 17, 2012 06:52 AM

R888's have a very limited lifespan if used for street use, as well as a narrow temperature range.... are you sure these are the right tires for you..

DankZ07 Dec 17, 2012 08:27 AM

back up a step, and ask what tires to run before you worry about size.....robert nailed it..

I thought that was a default title for all you PM members...I've seen it quite a bit.

"Know it all" is default. If it isn't, I sure didn't put it there. Hah

Lets just say I've got some plans for this car - but I don't know much about what I am doing yet. Thus I am trying to learn. Thank you guys for the info!

Do you have plenty of track experience , if not , stick to normal street tires while learning.

I do not, but I was hoping to get some.

:+1: Learned while the car is hard to control, than work up to sticky tires.

Mike Anthony Dec 19, 2012 05:53 AM

Makes sense to me. What brand street tires would you suggest? Price isn't an issue for the most part and I would prefer something grippy.

Edit: thoughts on Yokohama Advan AD08?

Robert_K Dec 19, 2012 06:13 AM

AD08 are another DOT R-Compound. I really liked the BFGoodrich KDW tires.

terrasmak Dec 19, 2012 06:42 AM

Hankook RS3, but i suggest something like a Hankook V12 for your first few trackdays and work up to an RS3.

AD08 is a 180TW street tire.

OP - you can either start off on something like nitto invo, hankook V12, etc

Or star spec, rs3 etc. my first track day was on RS3s.

CH@Dbee Dec 20, 2012 11:51 AM

I run Goodyear Eagle RS-A all season tires.....it forces you to learn car control and be a better driver.

P&K350Z Dec 20, 2012 12:11 PM

Surprised no one has recommended Bridgestone RE11s

SE5spd Dec 20, 2012 01:03 PM

Because RE11 are more expensive and slower then RS3
