I think op was just looking to use his garbage sized 245/45/18s...

I have 245/40/18s on a 9.5 wheel its not exactly stretched but doesn't sit flush with the wheel. I kinda wish I went with 265/35s up front but o well.

A 245/45 is a different story because of the larger sidewall... My set of 245/45/18s are on 18x8s...

Once a set of tires is mounted and balanced I don't get why people want to swap them over to another set of wheels. For like $100 more you can just get a new tire that fits better.

Also koni shocks don't adjust the ride height, they can control the amount of dampening they provide. You will be bummed if you think your going to have coilover capabilities with your sweet koni yellows.

I was gonna get lowering springs with them as well. I hear konis with ground control springs are a better choice instead of bc coils. Thoughts on that?

I have tein basis, they are fine for a daily driver, can't go wrong with koni shocks but lots of good options are available. All depends on what your looking for and how much adjusting and tweaking you want to do.

Ground Control has been around for a long time. They do offer high end stuff like shock-to-coilover conversions (using quality components, usually starting with Konis) and adding perches, custom wound springs, you know, race shid. Essentially, you tell them your needs, e.g. type of racing - road, autocross, etc. and they build it (or supply the parts) for you.

Good stuff but waaaaay overkill for street cars.

Wasn't aware they did late model Nissan though. I know they do stuff in the Datsun, BMW, Porsche, domestic (Corvette, F-body) world. Or did, the last time I looked.

I was recommended konis with gc springs from a friend but hes a pretty big racer and im just using my z as a daily driver that i drive pretty spirited . I was looking at BC coils for 900$, I thought those would be a better fit for me. Would you agree with that? I thought konis would be a little overkill for myself.

Absolutely do wheels and suspension at one time. BUT.... Don't know where you are but other option is to purchase a "lifetime alignment" and never worry about paying again. Pays for itself the second time you bring it in for alignment.

Now keep in mind that alignment on a Z consists of.... toe adjustment. Thazzit. Caster and camber are not adjustable UNLESS you install adjustable FUCA and rear toe arms. You might want to consider that option when doing suspension.

Here's a thought.... If you don't buy the Ground Control stuff and buy Bilstein ProKit (a "mere" $850 for Bilstein and Eibach - best deal in the suspension department), you'll have saved enough money to spend on good alignment gear.

That sounds pretty good to me, might as well get everything done at once. What would you recommend for alignment gear?

Theres a firestone downtown that offers lifetime alignment.

You have your choice of gear ranging from Cusco, Kinetix at the low end (cost, I have no exp on it otherwise), SPC and Eibach in the middle, SPL on the high end.

I run SPC on recommendation of my chassis guy (well, they do everything Z but they're really good with chassis/suspension). No problems ever.

When you go to Firestone, make sure the guy you get knows what the stuff is and knows how to adjust. Not every alignment tech gets stuff beyond "Well, the Hunter rack says you can't adjust camber...."

Found a good deal on these wheels, only thing is i'll have to run converting spacers. That's why the offset is so slow. Will this be a problem to run? I'm at stock rideheight atm.

19x10 ET +5

Probably has bmw bolt pattern and needs to convert it over to the 5x114.3... Thats my guess.

19x10 ET +5

Front 235/35/19
Rear 255/35/19
That's already a crazy offset and spacers are just going to make it worse. Aggressive on a 10 inch wide wheel on the the Z is +15 and OE is +30.
