I bought my z 6 months ago coming from the Toyota platform i had two sc300 and a 5spd is300. The car is really fun to drive has a couple mods nismo stune exhuast plenum spacer higflow cats car sounds beautiful but im itching to get new wheels its on the stock track edition wheel...currently looking to get the rota mxr-r2 wanted to know if i could run 18x11 +15 or +20 all around didnt want to go 19s cuase i dont want to lose speed not sure if the car has a tune but it pulls hard.... for tires i was thinking 245 up front and 265 in rear or mabey 275 oh and im lowered on springs...

18x11 is not worth it unless you are running a 285 or wider tire.

was thinking the same thing ... I have 245s on my 18x8 daily wheels.

I wouldn't run 11" all around - a few reasons

#1 - it's too big of a foot print on the front end - I'd imagine your understeer would suck.

#2 - if you don't want to go 19" on the wheels bc the additional moment of inertia mass than going to a 18x11 is taking steps in the wrong direction for the same reason.

the OEM track wheels are 40-42lbs per wheel +/- accounting for the stagger(18-19lbs for the wheel and 22-24lbs for the tire)

A 18x11 wheel will probably be in the ~25lbs range. My 295 toyos are almost 31lbs - you're looking to go from 42lbs of rotational mass to 55lbs of rotational mass. That's a big jump.

If you are seriously considering selling your track wheels I may be interested in buying them. Send me a PM and we can talk.

I run that combo on the stock 8" front and 8.5" rear Touring V2 wheels. 245 is a 9.6" tire, which is going to look a bit silly on 11" wheel. Hate the stretch / stance look but to each his own.

Sounds like your mind is made up -

Is there anything that anyone on this forum can say that is going to persuade you away from putting a 245 tire on a 11" wheel? If not, just do it ...

If you like the performance aspect of your car now it'd be foolish to think those attributes will remain if you change your tire/wheel setup.

No one is worked up about it, just that 245 is a totally unsuitable tire size for 11" wide wheels. There's a "rule" that one should follow and that is to apply a tire size that is at least as wide (tread width) as the wheel and not to exceed 120% else performance drops off. Likewise, not a good idea to go below 100% of the wheel width but can do so down to about 90% without too much performance offset.

Yes, one can mount a tire that is outside of this range. But it doesn't make it right.

S'far as running 11" all around, well, it's been said already, you run the risk of creating more understeer (if you size the front tire correctly) in an already understeering pig. Not a major issue that can't be overcome with proper suspension tuning.

Will they fit? Depends on tire size and offset. I'm going to GUESS that +15mm 11's are going to scrub the fenders at lock but do not know for sure. That's with the proper tires (for the wheels), say, a 285. 245s stretched will probably fit up front without interference but that's the point, no performance gain stretching the tire to make it fit. FWIW, I see a lot running 10.5 square with 275s, if that helps.

To your comment about 19's and losing speed.... 19s by themselves are not the enemy. It all depends on the overall weight of the tire/wheel combination. My S-Tune 19x9/10 wheels weigh 20.4lbs each on average and with the tires I currently have on them, the full weights are in the mid-40s. If you compare that to any 18" replica wheel/tire combination (as you've shown with the Work copies), you can bet mine are wayyyyyy underweight. Only combinations I've run on my car that were as light were 18" RPF1s and Track V.1s.

Yeah yeah, someone will bring up inertial/centrifugal effect of the spinning wheel with mass farther from center. Blah blah blah, if one can feel that difference and point it squarely at and quantify it from the rim being further from center, I say more power to you, go buy 15s then. There is some effect upon wheel deflection but nothing you can feel unless maybe you're on track. For the street, psh, I stick by my 19s.

Its a mild aggressive setup. I have 19x10F/11R +10 on 275/35, has a bit of poke but nothing over the top. I'm not slammed or have excessive camber. Fronts will poke out too much on x11 +15 IMO.
