Will i need a camber kit?
Hello all, after 7 years of owning my z ive decided to finally lower it on tein basis coilovers. My rims are 19x9.5f 19x10.5r. Tires 245/35/19,
275/35/19. . I would like to lower it until there is no wheel gap. Will I need a camber kit and if so can you guys recommend me a brand. Tia |

yea - get a camber and toe kit. Buy something from a trusted/quality manufactures ... if a camber / toe arm goes out it'll be a bad day.

Depending on how low you go, you may not need an adjustable A arm (camber arm) for the front. Keep in mind, when lowering the car you will be putting stress on many components/ bushings on the suspension, and may find new problems if you have all of the original bushings, and ball joints.
For the rear, you will want camber arms, I have Z1 arms and they seem well made/ sturdy. If the rear coilovers are a true-type, then you can get adjustable toe arms. If your rear coilovers use an adjustable spring mount, you may need aftermarket toe bolts, and will have to modify the sub-frame. Also, it may be a good idea to get an 'eccentric bolt elimination kit' for any of the arms-(camber/ toe), that you are replacing with adjustable ones. |
No matter what he gets, he will have to find a tuner to adjust the front, most big box places wont touch them because not adjustable from factory

Agreed. Problem I had was Goodyear would do a "Lifetime Alignment Warranty". Then the tech with the 2 X 10" ramps vanished and now my nearest GoodYear with a rack I can drive on is about 35 miles each way ftl.
That's how I found out that my front struts are starting to wear, bout 95k miles on the original ones. So what I was gonna do is just go ahead and replace my struts with some lowering springs (Tanabe GF or Eiabch Sportline) and take advantage of the warranty but got hit with that nonsense that they don't touch the front. Lol. |
