Likely a dumb question, but will putting 2007 18” OEM rims on a 2003 with 18” OEM rims change anything in terms of fitment, handling or anything else?

The only difference between the two are that the 2007 rear 18” OEM's are 8.5" wide with +33 offset, while the 2003 are 18.0” wide with a +30 offset.

Am I correct in assuming that there will be no noticable difference with anything? I much prefer the look of the 2007 5 spoke over the 2003 6 spoke.

Assuming that's a typo and you meant 8" wide, you should be fine. The touring V2's from the 2007 are about a pound lighter which will decrease the weight at the corners and give you slightly better performance. OEM tire sizes between the two are the same.

No, 18" wide is right. He has the one-year-only 350Z Steamroller trim.

I was mainly wondering about caliper clearance and the +3 difference in offset, which seems like nothing.

Be sure to use the OEM 370Z lug nuts. The newer wheels require a lug nut with a washer.

The 2003 and 2007 OEM rims are both from 350z's, so the lug nuts should be the same, correct?

No, only if he is going to Z34 wheels!


Mike, you are correct. The Z33 does NOT require the 370Z shanked/washer lugnuts. OEM nuts from your '03 wheels fit the '07 wheels just fine. Added note: By the same token, do NOT use "tuner" lugnuts on OE wheels! Those are for aftermarket wheels that have a different taper configuration ONLY. They will not seat/torque correctly.
