comparisions - 19 LMGT's vs. CPF Tune Racing Harts
i know CPF tunes are only the "black chrome" and are 9" fronts and 10.5" rears but what about the nismo 19" LMGT's?
what colors do they come in? widths? what are the offsets of both? I know they are both light but which ones are lighter? does the TPS mount in both just like the factory rays? and finally, if you have either, please post pictures here. thanks in advance....... and where can I get them and for how much? (paging Jason at Performance!) |
My favorite wheel, by far, is the 19" Nismo with the 10.5" rear - the Nismo's (since 19's are usually special order anyways) can be ordered in a variety of offsets... I was planning on running 9.5 fronts w/ the flat face and 10.5 rears w/ the deep lip - the only problem is the wait and the price (around $2800-3K wheels alone) - BUT if you compare them to the CPF-Tune's, the price and weights are almost identical, so it pretty much comes down to the look you want....

I have 19 inch lmgt4s. And love them. And I do have OEM tire pressure sensors with my rims.

thanks guys.
any one have the weights on these tires. I know they are extremely light but who is lighter? so pimp, your sensors fit in OEM style correct? no banding? oh yeah, what finish does the LMGT come in? i got a silverstone and do not want the black. |
bark,
I would suggest the 19" nismos for your car. I LOVE the CP-F tunes ... they were my second pick, but I just dont think they look good on a SS colored car (check the one thread here recently with em on a SS). I think the standard silver nismo finish (or a GM powdercoat ala Jason@pefr would look great) Good luck in your decision jim |
I gotta agree with Jim,
Even though the CP-F Tunes are beautiful wheels, that hyperblack gloss finish kinda dulls out our silverstone. It still would look good but I like bringing out the color of the car. Silver and different shades of darkcloud/ nubis gris/ charcoal or gunmetal usually looks best. I've noticed the silvers (mercury, brilliant, flat) makes the Silverstone look more grey because of it's contrast with the car. Whereas, The darker colors give the car a more a metallic gunmetal sheen to it. Looking at darker colors in the wheel forces the eye to be receptive to the reflective flakes in the car. I dunno... Do I make any fuggin sense?? :p |
what he said :p
it actually does make a lot of sense though, nice post |

i have the CP-f tune on my crome silver Z and I must say they look amazing. I dont know why you would even think they wouldnt look less attractive on a SS....
|
I have a chrome silver ... and I looked long and hard at the F-tunes .... I think they look amazing against the brilliant exterior of our cars. However, I think the charcoal accent in the SS paint will not go well with the black chrome color.
just my thoughts, zeph explained it real well above |
i agree. the black gloss does not seem to fit well with the silverstone paint.
just my opinion of course. and I think the TPS need to be banded in (on the f-tunes) but I am not sure of that. |

Try beautiful red shimmering lipstick on a lightskin hot blonde. Now try that same red lipstick on a tropical tanned beauty. ;) Awesome wheels BTW. I would definitely consider them if I had any other color car. |
