Default Advise Please

I have narrowed the wheels that I will be getting to the following list.

5Zigen Copse 18's - $249
5Zigen RX6 18's - $189
Enkei RS 6 18's - $161
Enkei RS 7 18's - $249
G-Games 77 Wolf 1 piece 18's - $259
G-Games 77 Wolf 2 piece 18's - $409
Gram Lights 57 Pro 18's - $449
SSR Competition 18's - $424
Volk GTP 18's - $499
Volk TE37 18's - $539

Can you guys comment on the quality and weight and share what ever experiences you have with these companies.
The prices I listed I have found from online retailers. They dont represent the best deal I have found, just what the company was selling them for on the site that I found them on.

I have decided to stay with 18's. Personally I think the 18's that are on my Z now look fine in the wheel wells and I would not want to go with a lower profile tire.

I will attach pictures of the wheels after I post this thread.
I love the Volks but they are just too expensive. I am getting the Twin Turbo kit that my NISMO Certified dealership will be installing. This is going to cost me 10k so I dont want to spend an extremely large amount of money on wheels alone.

Your comments on my selection would be much appreciated.

Thanks!!

get a set of 18" Nismo's from your dealer. If you are spending $10,000 with them, I am sure they can cut you a nice deal on em.

I personally dont like how the Nismo wheels look. I also want to deal as little as possible with this dealership for reasons I dont want to get into.

Anyway, is there a reason why you guys choose the most expensive rims listed? What is so special about the Volks and the Gram Lites? Is it just a name or is there actually a good reason. I know this is my money which will be spent but I would rather get a set of descent wheels for 800 - 1200 instead of kick *** rims that will cost me over 2K. Especially if I like the look of the cheaper rims the best.

Then get what YOU like. Most say that the Volks are a stronger wheel than others. I do not know.

I suggest you put on your car what you like. Weight, cost and durability are factors you have to decide on as the buyer .... you cannot have all of them

well.... I guess Kinesis can give you all of em for $1500/wheel

You are absolutely correct. Ultimately what goes on the car will be what I like. I cant think of any other reason for making a final decision. LOL

What are your thoughts on the Enkei's and 5Zigen's? Are they crappy wheels? Are they heavy? Look aside, are they sooooo bad that you would caution against them at all costs!!!

No, nothing against them. I like some Enkies for a track wheel, some are lightweight and clear the Brembos and hold some decent sized rubber. For the street however, I do not thing they have a nice classy look to them.

The 5Zs have a nice look, I have no idea about quality of them.

I know niether are crappy wheels, but you can always get something a lil nicer for a bit more cash. Then again, opinions on wheels are totally a personal preference. I LOVE mesh wheels, however for the most part they tend to be heavy. At the same time, I think it sets off the look of the car. I also LOVE a clean 5-spoke (Iforged Aero). These are all a bit more expensive than you want to spend, but I really think that a car with that much $$ in it deserves some top-notch stuff.

I suggest doing yourself a lil "favor" and waiting a few months and getting the right deal on a great set of rims ... just wait for the right price, but be ready to ****** em up real quick. You will not regret it. I look at mine everyday in hapiness

Thanks for the advise. Your wheels are sick by the way. They are a great touch.

Modding vehicles is nothing new to me. Unfortunetly the emphasis is so different when it comes to modding an import racer versus a 7500 pound 4x4 truck. While look and quality remain consistant in both worlds, there are a lot more details that cant be easily overlooked when dealing with race cars.

Time is on my side here. I'm still in the research phase. Wheels have always been the first thing I ever did to any car i've modded. Besides wheels are a good prep for the whack my wallet will take when I do the TT install. LOL

Thanks again!!!!
