Default AAM 3inch true dual on the HR

I've just purchaced an AAM true dual, it says that it best works on turbocharged Zs, However, i communicated with another member of my350z.com who has the same exhaust on his Z with intake/plenum, and he says that his Z feels way better and faster, he also said that on low rpms the car kinda feels little bit clumsy, but nothing to worry about. I am going to turbocharge my car as soon as the turbo kit is released and tested. therefore i dont want to buy any "junk mods" as i like to say, i want to be able to
re-use them, and not dump money in something pointless. The exhaust is onwed by a buddy of mine who is in the army, it is on his 06 Z with TN(he wants to get rid of it so the car is slowly being taken a part). it has only 400mile after he installed it(he got deployed), so i am allowed to try it on my Z and if it works out, and the car has significant improvement i will bolt my stock exh. on his 06 and pay him the AAM. so, here i want to direct a question to you guys, if you can speculate what the outcome will be, and if there is anything to worry about, when use this large exhaust om a completely stock motor. hope that i did not bore you with my writing.

Give it a shot - there have been some pretty successful results from other people who bolted up a turbo exhaust to an HR. I believe it was the Greddy, but not sure.

Good luck with everything. However, prepare to wait (a very long time) for any FI to come out for the HR

Greddy is going to show off their twin turbo kit on the HR motor at SEMA (end of october) and they will be available shortly after that so by this years end they should be out.

Get a before and after dyno. You will greatly help out the HR community. There should be a local shop that has a dyno. Where do you live??

dual 3 inch really would be best suited to a powerful FI setup - will lose too much exhaust velocity down low and I'd guess it will make your torque band very peaky

will it work? Sure - would I recommend it? probably not

make sure u call and make an appointment, take off ur intake manifold cover before u go so that they can get to an rpm signal wire, cause they might charge u to take it off

I don't know about you, but that thread is not enough to convince me to purchase that certain exhaust...I won't believe it until I see more before/after dyno runs with exhaust systems on the HR.

,
yep , i have doubts as well, i went today to the garage where the exhaust is, and looked at it, the flanges look little bit biger, but i can get rid of my cats and get suitable for the AAM exhaust test pipes, that will match my headers, either way the welder will have to muscle the exhaust in
