Haven't been around in a few years...
The site has changed from the red and black it used to be...cool.
Anyway, here is a little story I thought I'd share. I took my '04 350Z Track in for its 60,000 mile service. I know the service writer well, and we were BS'ing about the GT-R. I planned to get one in a couple of years, after my youngest was out of college. He asked me if I'd ever seen a GT-R before, to which my reply was: no. He said they had one on the showroom floor, and proceeded to show it to me.
When I went to pick up my Z the next day, I asked him to show me the GT-R again. Long story short, I left my Z at the dealership as a trade-in and drove home in a 2009 Obsidan Black GT-R Premium.
I loved my Z, and I do miss it. But with the GT-R, somehow I think I'll survive.

I can't believe you went from white to black. You know what they say about black....
Congrats on the new addition. Me thinks your college student is old enough to get a job.
Maybe I'll see you at the end of the month cruising around SD. I'll wave...lol

When I saw the black GT-R, it was my second choice in color. I still would have preferred the white. There was only one white in California, and it was a 2010, and the dealer would not budge off of the $10k markup over MSRP. I happily bought the black 2009 at MSRP, at a savings over white of about $17k. I'm in the process of applying Zaino to minimize swirls.
And my college student will still have help her last two years.
Besides, the prices on the GT-R seem to rise each year, and my trade was only losing value as time ticked by.

Interesting story. Sounds like it worked out well for you. I'm hoping my oldest pays for my next sports car. Of course, he's got a few years to go, but from what he tells me about his career choices, I might just go live with him when he buys his first mansion.
lol i told my parents that when im rich im gonna buy them matching 350z's im not gonna tell them about a few special features i had installed
im thinking built motors tt kit some nice volks nismo body kits and ill even put spray in my moms lol. my mom will actually drive hers my dads will stay in the garage and look amazing it will maybe put 500 miles on it a year. this will be a gift for my parents seeing home they have done so much for me and raised me right and i feel the deserve somthing nice. my mom never get nice cars for herself she has a 08 scion xd and a 09 nissan frontier. she just gets what she needs and she needs a nice weekend toy

Actually, I'm about one third the way through the Zaino process: washed, clay barred, washed again, Z-AIO, Z-6.
I still have to do the Z-5 3 times, then the Z-2, with Z-6 between each coat of Z-5 and Z-2. Followed off with Z-6 then Z-CS.

Yeah, as soon as my tags come for my CA palm tree plates.
And you know, oil changes don't HAVE to be done at the Stealership, they only have to be done to Nissan standards. Standards for an oil change? I've found a high performace car shop around here that will do my oil changes for 1/3 the price of the Stealership. The only thing Nissan is going to do for me are the *free* POS visits and any warranty work that might arise.
And from the NAGTROC forum, I've already identified better fluids with greater exchange mileages, so I'll be saving change big time!
Alll riiiiggtt...giggety giggety.

Thanks!

Shouldn't your kids pay their own way through college, wouldn't that help them more?
Congrats on the pick up! Beautiful pics, it actually appears shorter there than in person.
