My warranty had just expired last month and now my drivers side window doesnt work at all... just curious how much this will cost and how much time it takes the dealer to install the motor? Thanks for your help.

Damn, that sucks. Is there no service bulletin for the window motors? I've heard of several people having problems with them.

I have had 1 replaced on my driver's side and two replaced on the passanger side, all under warranty. I am frightened for what follows in the future.

Talk to the service department, they did a job on my Ford Explorer after I was out of warranty for a few weeks. Just tell them it happened a few months ago and you never had a chance to bring it in. Good luck.

Heh yeah I just had the driver's side replaced, but the car has ~10K miles on it, and I'm a bit concerned that the replacement will fail within 10K miles and/or the passenger side one will fail sometime. You know, replace a faulty motor with the same faulty motor. Maybe they've changed something (new motor), but I doubt it. Not sure who makes the motors or what the issue is exactly, but it seems to be a somewhat common problem.

I'm sure we've all had a car to compare it to, but for example, my '81 911's power windows still work fine nearly 25 years and 150K+ miles later. I don't see getting the same out of these motors.

My 94 Nissan Altima window motors work fine after 11 years of abuse.

Does the limited 3yr/36,000 mile warranty that comes with the car cover the Window motor?

Yes it does. Both my power window motors and regulators had to be replaced recently and were done under warranty.
