with a great car comes great danger.

I dunno about you guys but I hate babysitting my Z... I can't go anywhere and leave it outside for more than 30 minutes. And if I do I have to check up on it every so often to make sure she's alright. I can't go to the club with it because I'm scared someone with tow it away to a chop shop. Can't ever leave it outside over night (if I'm spending the night at my girls house), even if I go to someplace such as Wallmart I'm worried. Now it may just be me since my last car was stolen beneath my eyes and I might be paranoid, but there's just so much thieving going on these days and stupid idiots keying/hit and running/ dinging up our cars... I love my car and all but man it's a big responsibility. Almost as if I have my own kid lol. Anyways, I'm just ranting.

for the love of god, its a Z not a ferrari. im sure you have full coverage insurance. stop living your life for you car, its not worth the agony.

get lojack perhaps? or a pager alarm?

jdm_Z33 03-08-2006 09:45 PM

to you my friend it may be a big production affordable sports car but to me it's my dream come true.

jdm_Z33 03-08-2006 09:46 PM

And yes, I have an aftermarket alarm, full coverage and gap insurance, plus 2 other thief protection units but that will never stop a really good thief

Nexx 03-08-2006 09:50 PM

ugh, i really hope you have much bigger dreams and aspirations then a Z. dont get me wrong, i love my car but in the end its just a car nothing more.

nothing wrong with loving and caring for your car... may not be a ferrari but hell its a damn nice car!! i feel your pain sometimes but im not that worried about the Z much anymore now that i park her in the garage =)

Nexx 03-08-2006 10:28 PM

im sure he posted his thoughts to get others to comment. so i did. if you dont like it tough. nothing personal.

imseksy 03-08-2006 10:30 PM

^^ maybe he posted because he wonders if anyone else feels the same way he does... i dont think he wanted to start a flame war, unless he gets orgasms from it or something, which i doubt =)

JDM Z33, I can totally understand. I busted my a$$ to be able to afford one. I've never had a "sports car" before, so this is it!!

To me it's a affordable sports car. However, that doesn't mean I don't like to keep it nice. Yeah you can't stop the haters or thieves. But, you can park it under a light, away from traffic/other cars, even put a car cover on when you are at work, etc...

I generally keep my cars 10 years or more and except for the few rock chips and minor dings that I just can't afford to get resprayed. My cars look almost brand new or better throughout their life.

imseksy 03-08-2006 10:40 PM

if you guys think were bad, you should take a look at some of the bmw guys. some of them just have 325i but will will cringe if anyone touches their car.

Take a lesson from me. I used to own a 240SX SE Coupe 10 years ago. I loved that car. It was pristine, with a Heads Up Display of the speed, power everything.

I loved it so much that I only put 10,000 miles on it in the 3 years I had it. I ended up selling it later because it was an automatic and I wanted a manual vehicle.

The lesson I learned from that is you can't baby a car too much.

I have an NSX now and I do baby it, I admit it. But I also drive it hard when needed, because it's a car for me to enjoy. I don't want to feel like I can't enjoy my cars any more.

I understand what you're saying, but you need to get over it, or you'll never enjoy the car to its fullest extent.

I'll probably end buying a 350Z or a G35 Coupe as a daily driver in the next few months, once I get my cars squared away (I've got 3 other daily drivers besides the NSX, so I need to get rid of one or two of those cars). You can bet I'll be using the Z or the G35 hard every day, and loving it.

nsxster 03-08-2006 11:50 PM

double tap... sorry

I think some of you need either better jobs or richer parents, lmao.
