This is why I'm not doing the fuel line recall!

I found this picture on another forum. Apparently a dealer in Clearwater was doing the recall fix on somoene's car. They dropped the rear subframe which threw off the balance of the car on the lift... from there gravity took over and this is the result.

I just did a little search, and it appears the poor guy who fell victim to the dealer's misunderstanding of simple physics is on these forums. The post can be found here:

Sorry bro, that totally sucks! Good luck with your future IS.

However, I think it would be a service to 350z community to let everyone know to avoid the service department at "said" Nissan dealership in Clearwater.

Man...I got mine done, I didnt have it at a quarter tank like suggested. They never said anything, I looked around the rear tire area, and didnt even see where they replaced anything. Makes me wonder if they even did the work.:fingersx:

roast Apr 13, 2006 01:04 AM

If you ask me, that's all the more reason to take your stock 350z in for the recall.

They drop your car = brand new car!!!!

JDMFairlady21 Apr 13, 2006 02:49 AM

wow that is shocking!!! hmmm wonder if he still wants those wheels... j/k

Miraclekidjr Apr 13, 2006 07:36 AM

Yea, I believe thats Lokey Nissan and that's simply ridiculous....

97supratt Apr 13, 2006 07:46 AM

That is unbelievable, how stupid are those techs. They cant even lift the vehicle properly, I wonder how they do oil changes.

Zhornet Apr 13, 2006 07:55 AM

I had the recall fixed, but luckily the outcome was a bit better than this.

ericjackson Apr 13, 2006 08:34 AM

im gonna print the pic off and show it to them and say, is it possible to have a better outcome than this?

99atlantic Apr 13, 2006 10:15 AM

but, but, but the stealership knows what it's doing!!!!!!

heh

I just can't seem to understand why dealerships constantly insist on hiring people with no common sense. I can understand a lack of education on the lower level mechanics, but common sense has to be a factor somewhere.

NismoNitsuj Apr 13, 2006 12:05 PM

Mine's getting done as I type this...
