What's the rev up engine?

I was at a light today and a silver track edition pulled next to me. He said he had the rev up engine in his Z. What is that? Sounded good. I have a red '03 enthusiast.

Thanks GTNPU Z, good read.

Short and simple: Its the 300-hp motor that debuted in the '05 Track and 35th Anniversary models thats now in all '06 M/T Z's. 300hp/260tq, 7000 RPM redline, and variable exhaust valve timing as well as intake.

let me get this straight. if you have a rev-up engine then you will need to replace the lower plenum w/the 287 hp lower plenium and then add the 5/16 spacer. if you have 287 hp engine then all you need to do is just add a 5/16 spacer?

captron61 Aug 17, 2006 07:52 AM

So is that is why I see supercharger kits for the 287hp motor only?

Nope.

You can get over 600 whp with a turbo kit on the rev-up engine:

I cant speak for certain regarding superchargers though.

captron61 Aug 17, 2006 10:02 AM

Sorry, I was referring to the Stillen superchargers listed on their site.

Some of the kits say 287hp motor only.

2006 350Z automatic does not have revup motor?

Nope. Only the 6MT has it.

What's the answer to the question above? I have an '06 with the rev-up. Can I just get the 5/16 spacer and add an MREV2 later? (cost constraints). Or is it the case that I MUST install an MREV2 before I can install a spacer?

Yeah, you pretty much need to do the MREV2 first, or at least at the same time as the spacer.

A spacer on your Stock lower collector won't do anything.

Get the MREVplus kit.

Umm...why? The MREV+ doesn't even appear on Motordyne's website anymore (not under the 350Z section, anyway).
