Do your NF210's look like this? (PICS)
Are these what your Tanabe NF210's looked like out the box?

Tein has had quite a problem with knock-offs, enough to where they are dedicating a page to it on their website: http://www.tein.com/counterfeit/warning.html fleaBay is full of crap. Personally, I'd rather get piece of mind paying an extra $10 or whatever the price difference is to deal with a reputable dealer. Of course, for all I know dro indeed got these from a reputable source and these are perfectly fine. |
I had the GF's. Dif. color, but the coating was glossy. I think you got ripped!

I bought a set of NF210s last month from a local shop who is an official Tanabe dealer and mine were a glossy RED. They came with a flyer from Tanabe indicating that they changed the coating to be thicker & stronger and changed the color to differentiate between the new and old models.
I haven't installed them yet so they are still sitting in the box in my garage. One thing I noticed is that on your springs, the NF210 lettering follows the spring so if you look straight on to the spring, the lettering goes up, from left to right. On mine, the lettering is parallel to the ground so it is perfectly straight from left to right. I think you got a counterfit copy, sorry to say. |
I just went downstairs and checked the NF210s on my 2 Lexus' and both sets are a light blue very close to yours. I've had those for about a year, so they are the older models.
Another subtle thing -- none of the 3 sets of NF210s I bought came with styrofoam packing -- just the springs in a plastic bag |

you have the other ones there are soft and grip or somthing like that but i know there are to diffrent ones I will find the website that talks about it.
|
there it is the redish ones and the blue ones are both on that page

Oh, I don't have these yet. I was sent these pics and I just wanted to confirm. I think I'll go ahead and pic these up...thanks for all the info guys!
|
I have the same springs that you just bought, I bought them from a a legit company.. They look the same as the ones you posted in the picture. Everyone who posted about the NFs being red is wrong. You got the right springs man, get them installed and stop doubting..
|
I got the NF210's and they are blue in color just like the ones in your pics.
|
Thanks all! I'm in the process of buying them right now...
oh and "TiPIACE", your car is  |
thanks mate
check here for pics of my drop on the NF210s (with Tokico Dspec shocks) https://my350z.com/forum/media-share/203937-authentic-jdm-nismo-sb-work-in-progress-2.html you'll like the springs, they are alot more comfortable than stock, alot more bump absorption |
Just got my springs yesterday....can't wait to put these on this weekend!
|
Tanabe has changed the variation on the color of their springs. The GF210's were purely orange but now they are slightly red, I wouldnt be suprised if they did this with the NF210 as well. I think they did this to differentiate from knock off springs.
|
Quick question. On the Nissan Performance website, they have these listed as $288. Is that for one spring or 4?
|
those look like my springs.. i got them directly from tanabe usa and they also did the install :)
|
u can get those springs for 160....cuzz i have them...
