Question NE 1 with a 03 Z Problems?Fixes?Experiences?

(david)
I did a search and can't really find Much on an 03 Z as far as any real problems and fixes for those problems. .im also not on 24/7 so i was wondering if anyone else has an 03 Z like me and has had problems and what not. .so Far personally i've only had the tire wear and rear axle clicking in which i fixed myself. .but is there any other problems to worry about. .so far i've got just under 45K. got a few mods that you can see by way of signiature and . .Runs like a champ!!

Damn, 03' and all year Z's problems have been documented well. Go search the maintenance forums. Here are some issues Ive had in my 03', just to give you an idea

* Tranny started grinding when cold-on my 4th, but first 3 were defective 4th was my doing

* HU ate CD replaced by dealer

*Axle clicking, dealer regareased

*Seats frayed, dealer

*Window motor stopped working-dealer

* Nav door would jam up-dealer

* Center console change door broke

* Driver seat clicks like many Z's, I'll be replacing with aftermarket soon (cotter pin fix documented online)

There is more, thats what you get for buying a car the 1st year, I doubt Id do that again. With all the issues though, I couldnt imagine not owning a Z, absolutely love it.

- Tire feathering (dealer)
- Window grease/ motor marks (dealer - but still does it)
- Driver seat squeak/click and bolster frayed (didn't get it replaced in time)

I still have the original transmission about to turn 65xxx miles- no problem grinding in any gears, no oil consumption problems. I guess I got lucky as well!

Only problem so far was a bad window motor/handler. All other fixes were maintenance and recalls. '03 base 55k miles.

There is no camber adjustment upfront, and minimal adjustment in the rear. How do you adjust alignment every month? What goes out on yours?

i got a hunter alignment machine at the shop. .and i drive highway about 40 miles to my gf's. .so occasionally after hitting some bumps here n there i tend to feel the car pull on straight roads and i kno its not just following the crown of the road. .so i check the alignment when i can usually once a month or every 2 depending on how much i drive. .always off in the front. .tow. .and in the rear left tow. .camber in the front although there is no adj for it. .never off. .but in the rear went off a tad when i installed the gt spec bars. .thats about it. .main concern of mine was just the tow keeps going out. .it's not a big issue. .just im ****!!

My engine and transmission had complete failure. I'm blaming Nissan for this and will sue them in court, never mind that I was doing 147 mph and the cops had to set up a roadblock to stop me.

What can I say, I won't take it to the track because I want to test the ride in a real world situation instead of one that won't "hit back." Also, my greasy scumbag lawyer is going to lower the charges because he's a weasel who would defend Stalin if he was paid enough.

Also, since most of Jersey smells like monkey feces, I'm also going to sue Nissan because the in cabin filter smells like said feces.

well for the axle click. .if anyone cares to do it themselves or have a friend whose mechanically inclined. .you have to remove the rear axle that clicks. .not fully but just enough to be able to spin the inner teeth a full 180 degrees while also re lubing it up. . not positive if the dealer takes care of that. .but i did mine myself. Got the directions so to say from a friend who works for parts at a dealer. .

03, only tire feathering and axle clicking, which I actually don't even mind that much to tell you the truth. I might DIY it if it starts to get to me.
