I hope that isn't the money factor there or I see around 16% on the interest rate!

FYI Touring w/fees only, should be about 575. Not bad at all.

Default leas

These numbers are not that sweet at all. A .00280 money factor is roughfly equal to 6.72% and the residuals are not that high IMO.

Now why would the Track have a lower residual than the Standard? I ran the numbers for my Track and with a total down of 5K I am looking at 626 vs. 492 buy vs. lease per month. This is using the money factor, 5.49% interest rate from Peoplefist and a residual of 59%. 5 Year Purchas vs. 3 year lease which is what a log of people compare to.

It is OK if you are really going to turn the car in.

Saludos.

Default Here are my numbers

Ok,
I bought a base model with NO options at MSRP. This means $26,700 without tax or $27,800 with tax (3.0% in NC).

With $4000 down in each case.

So....the best 5 year, 6 year, and 7 year rates that I can find are 5.25, 6.25, and 6.5.

That gives a monthly payment and total cost of
5 471 - 32251
6 414 - 32804
7 368 - 34934.

The monthly payment and total cost for the 15K mileage lease are:
36months 360 - 32334
39months 347 - 32648
42months 360 - 32840
48months 349 - 33362

This includes the extra 3% on each payment and the 3% due on the residual at the end of the lease. (I do not include the potential future finance cost as I also do not include the potential income from investing the unused money)

So...you can see the 3 year lease is a pretty awesome option....at least for me.

I LOVE the BASE.

How can you figure out the buyout cost at the end of the lease? I am in a situation that I need lower monthly payments now but will be able to afford higher payments in a few years.

My options would be these:

72-month buy from Peoplefirst at about $640/mo

or

60-month lease from Nissan for about $440/mo and buy at the end of the lease.

How much more will I spend to go the lease route?

Default Here are my numbers

What is the significance of the dollar amounts after the total months? It can't be what the lease costs.

I get:
36*360=12,960
39*347=13,533
42*360=15,120
48*349=16,752

The monthly payment and total cost for the 15K mileage lease are:
36months 360 - 32334
39months 347 - 32648
42months 360 - 32840
48months 349 - 33362

The second number is the total of the lease payments, the down payment, and the residual amount. In other words, this is the total amount of cash required to own the car using this type of lease. The 3% is the tax in NC.

Thanks Jay! It is interesting they perceive the residual value of the Track model to be lower than the rest. I wonder why?

I can email you an excel file I made with the numbers where you can enter your tradein, the cost you paid, the best loan rates you can get, etc.

Otherwise, just post your model, term, and total price and I will run the numbers.

thanks for the info!
36 ($467.73) 38725
39 ($449.40) 39122
48 ($437.79) 40078

This does not include the tax for your state (just add to the payment)

(The 5 yr loan at 5.25% with 3K down (and you pay the tax) is ~$550 and 36183)

So with that model there is a pretty big difference.
