what's your favorite gear in the Z?
I know to use different gears at diff speeds and situations. but the Z has tons of torque all over, below 5300 rpm. I seem to love being in 3rd gear in most situations. It just pulls hard in 3rd. puts a smile on my face. but it also seems to provide the best power of all 6.

From most of the manuals I've ever driven, 2nd is my favorite in city

2nd, by far. It's the only one that will completely through you back in your seat about 4k rpm.

I agree, but I find myself in 3rd the most....nice to cruise in, and punch it when you need to go and it give you a nice kick in the a$$.

4th delivers the power and sound I enjoy. Not many long stretches to open up in the hills. If you watch The Run, the drivers were staying in 4th most of the time.

I agree with Matt. 3rd gear is my favorite, tho 2nd is the strongest. But when you are reaching 5k on third, you feel as if you're about to take off on a jet!

For me, 1st and 2nd go by too quick. blink of eye i have to shift. No doubt 2nd is strongest, but 3rd is my "thomping gear"

Third for driving, but ever since I had the Borla installed, I can't get enough of
fourth above ~5200 rpms where the sound and torque just kind of "erupts". The thought of moving on to fifth kind of depresses me.

In my previous Hondas I loved third, but in the Z I think second rocks!

All I can tell you is that I hate going from second to third because **** grinds.
I need to take my car to the dealer.

4th above 5200RPMs? jeez where do you drive? thats well over 100mph.
I like 2nd cause its the highest gear I can hit redline legally in. 3rd is fun too tho, better than second, but I rarely get to wind it out.

Oops, sorry about that, I meant ~4200 (although it does sound good at 5200 too
).
