minispider...Excellent collection! Also thanks to you other guys for sharing...some real nice collections.
I was always a Vette lover (40, 1:18 diecast), I owned the real '69 but sold it about 15 yrs. ago, it was in beautiful condition....been sorry ever since! When I heard about the new Z car that was coming out in '03...I then waited and shopped around for the '04 roadster. I then stopped collecting scale models & used my extra cash for my mod fever.
I probably have over 175 cars, a few bikes & only 5 Z models. I'm also selling about half of my collection.
Here are some old pics....
Now I'm in the process of getting my modded '04 ZR to look exactly in a 1:18 scale model version....should take about 5 month's of waiting. I have to buy 3 models to start with, the actual model w/black interior but the exterior has to be painted Super Black since their are no 1:18 SB ZR roadsters made from any diecast company. I do have a 1:43 but its a SB ZR Fairlady w/orange seats. Another model car for the wheels, added workmanship to extend the deep dish look & another scale model for the rear deck wing....sideskirts & front lip will be fabricated along with other tidbits, badges and vanity plate. When all said & done it's gonna me under six hundred total & that includes the exterior & interior only but not the engine bay....I must be crazy!!!!

Yeah I have one too that I converted into a drift car.
They're just like cars, where all the upgrades like shocks, springs, slicks, wheels, motors can get expensive. You can get a starter kit for around 200 bucks but after upgrading all sorts of crap it adds up. Really depends on what you want to put in it. Some folks will buy a complete kit and be happy with it.
My chassis I bought like ten years ago for 300 bucks was completely carbon fiber and titanium parts. Through the years I've probably spent over a thousand on it. As far as the shell looking realistic, that depends on your patience and artistic ability.
