Looks like I won't be modding my Z

Well at this point, I'm a senior in high school with just enough money to pay for these insane gas prices each week. Looks like I'll be staying stock until after college when I have a job and get a new car. One reason is because mine is auto and I want to mod a manual, not auto. Hopefully once I get out of college and work for a few years I can afford to buy either a manual 350z or maybe even a 370z, then the modding will begin :)

If you were smart you would sell it, get a beater to get you thru school, save money on gas and insurance and later in life buy what you want.

Or work extra hard.

Bmurray350z Jul 31, 2012 07:16 PM

why not sell it now, and get a manual

If the car is paid off, keep it and use it for school and work. Simple solution. Don't spend your money on mods. Save your money for fuel, food, school, and rent.

The car will always be there later, and so will the modding bug.

Pointless thread is pointless?

Yep it's paid off. And yeah that's what I planned on doing, saving my money to pay for school.

Lol

If you can name the point of starting this thread, I will retract my statement. Not trying to be mean, just stating my opinion.

huyrua Jul 31, 2012 07:55 PM

Did you ask your parents?

C5_vette Jul 31, 2012 07:56 PM

Since it's already paid off you might as well drive it into the ground, if you end up living on campus while in college you won't really need a car/ be driving that much anyway

SmoothZ Jul 31, 2012 07:57 PM

These kinds of threads make me chuckle, only because I'm thinking of handing off my Z to one of my kids when they get old and responsible enough to drive. If that time happens to be during HS, then so be it.

Wanted some advice as to what to do, guess I forgot to add that part in but the other people picked up on it. And honestly, I don't care if you retract your statement, it has no effect on me at all.

Yeah exactly, especially since I'm planning on going to college in Philadelphia, no car needed haha. Software Engineering major hopefully :D

mattleegee Jul 31, 2012 08:25 PM

you can stay stock for life of ownership, even out of college you can stay stock

FairladyBlue Jul 31, 2012 08:30 PM

dont think like this. think positive. you will afford the gas and you will mod your car, get a 6speed whatever. you will get every thing that you want. you will. and it will happen. try it

I plan on that but after I get out of college haha right now my job doesn't give enough hours to afford mods haha. I'm very optimistic about my future though. I have great grades and everything so I'm just ready for college. Here's to a successful senior year and college years :chug:
