No thanks, I'll Keep my 350.

I really like the 370. The looks are growing on me. But I just don't see it being worth the upgrade for me, at least not now.

Performance is pretty similar, looks are debatable, new amenities good, but not that much different.

Also, my 2003 has 274 lb-ft torque @ 4800rpm vs 270 @ 5200rpm for the new 370z. That along with maybe 200 pounds less weight should make my Enthusiast 350z feel just as fast, around town, as long as you don't rev it up to the redline.

Add in the fact that I'd have to bring $20,000 or more to the table, and that means, no thanks for me.

Pretty much what i thought too.

I'll keep my RX-8. Yeah I know, any Z can blow off my doors, and while I agree the 370Z's interior is improved over prior models, the quality of interior materials are about the same as that of my '09 Rogue. The salesman said he will call when he gets several in stock as no one is being allowed to drive the one they have without a purchase agreement. I own 4 Nissans right now, but I will not likely be trading my RX-8 in for the new Z.

I have to say I'm jealous of the 370s interior though. I'd totally do a conversion but doubt that is possible at all.

I really like the 370z but I like the 350z more...I think the interior of the 370z is not that sport...

BlueZ33 Jan 10, 2009 12:44 PM

yeah but when i think of the 350z's interior, i dont think luxorious, the new 370z is just that and im not looking to upgrade just bc of the interior. if i wanted luxurious i would buy the g37.

fallenromeo Jan 10, 2009 12:46 PM

uhh...isn't the 370z going to weigh less than the 350?

Kiriller Jan 10, 2009 12:52 PM

370 - 3350
my 350 - 3339 + lighter wheels then stock so its a little less then that.

370s interior is way to luxurious, not my cup of tea. 350 plain and simple and flows. just my 2 cents :)

redline06 Jan 10, 2009 12:58 PM

why do people still think that a VQ35DE has more TQ than 07+ Zs?? it only has more TQ than a rev up , thats it. SAE hp and tq rating changed in 07 thats why the numbers are lower but make way more to the wheels

Stop looking at peak torque and start looking in the full graph. If all you care about is butt dyno feelings, then get a mustang. :dunno: Why do most DE guys cling to their max tq like it makes their engines God. Its the evolution of your motor, from the same manufacturer. Be happy Nissan is still moving foward. You want to keep your 350 great, so do I. Why do the rest of us care lol

Ilike350Z Jan 10, 2009 01:01 PM

dont forget 370Z hp is rated under the new SAE HP rating. Covert it to the old rating it i'll be more maybe 345hp 285 lb ft tq and (-100 lbs lighter?)

it doesnt even have more peak TQ, if that motor came out today the numbers would be way lower than 274 tq and 286 hp, and if an vq35hr came out back then it would be more like in the ballpark of 330hp

Fantastic points, i forgot about the newer SAE rating

Ztouring04 Jan 10, 2009 01:11 PM

yea im with you im holding on to my 350z for a while!!!!

Kiriller Jan 10, 2009 01:31 PM

So whats the new SAE rating and why did they implement it?

SS350Z Jan 10, 2009 01:53 PM

Everything I've read so far says the new 370 is heavier, about 3400. The 2003 Enthusiast was about 3200 although I haven't weighed it. I'll have to check on the new vs. old hp/torque ratings, and full torque curves, but the numbers are accurate.

If someone has torque curves please post. I don't see how the new one would have more torque elsewhere on the curve. The new one revs higher and hp is directly related to torque x rpm. It gets all its extra hp at high rpm.

Well its about time someone started a 350Z vs 370Z thread!

black06z Jan 10, 2009 02:04 PM

Did the other 350 vs 370 debate threads get closed or were they giving problems when trying to open them?? There's like a debate going on in every one of these threads.
