OEM GTR injector fit to 04 VQ35DE?
Looking to go turbo on my VQ and wondering if the OEM GTR injectors would be compatible - bolt up? Looking to make 400whp on 8-10psi. Plan to get a Walboro 255 as well...
|
Why not just buy DW 600cc injectors + Walbro 255 for 550 shipped new...
|
Just saw these injectors are available locally. Brand new GTR went into the shop for upgrades and these injectors came out. Less than 2000 miles on the car.
|
if you can't pay the 550 for the pump and injectors, FI is not for you.

^+1 on what he said...

why, why the hell would you want to do that when there are plenty of other good options....
RB20, RB25 and SR20 the older GTR injectors were a popular upgrade. If someone can same a few hundred during their built while still using quality parts, whats the problem? |

There's no reason to discredit someone for finding better solutions and making better financial decisions. For all you know, the only difference could be the money involved. So money saved early could be used to take care of things in the future with the car. |

The GTR OEM bolt up 560cc injectors are $400 and along with the Walbro for $150, it will be $550.

well if the gtr 560cc and walbro are 550. and the BRAND NEW dw 600cc and walbro are 550......... im not sure which is the better idea.........................
|
^^ it all depends on if the gtr injectors bolt right up. If they dont I would definetly just go with the dw 600cc and save yourself the hassel

Things have come a long way since this last post, but I did get the OEM GTR injectors - they plug right in to the OEM DE harness without mod.
They are now mated to a CJM Stage 2 fuel return system on a VQ longblock package. Motor is good for 650whp. Walboro 255 in the tank. The GT35R turbo will take me into the upper ranges of my built 5AT. Anything above 450whp for long will just burn the transmission, so that is my tuning goal. The 560cc injectors should get me there. |
450whp on a built longblock is gay.. get that 5AT really built to handle that 650whp potential of your engine. https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/cool.gif
|
So the OEM GTR injectors are 560cc and they are a direct swap?
Cool. |

Tranny is already built - Level 10 internals, B&W cooling, TC mod for FI, Transgo shift kit. I've never seen a built 5AT survive 450+ for more than a couple months. Done a lot of research on this and the tranny is the limitation in my drivetrain. This is an FX, not a Z, so I think it's perfect power - exactly inline with the bigger picture build I have been going with for the last two years. Yup - the GTR injectors bolt right up. Electrical connectors too. |

Did you seriously bring back a 11 year old thread for that?

Thank you for saying this I don't get why people think you have to spend a million dollars on their build. Man any money you can save on one thing can help you get another.
