Default Pictures of Nismo muffler on stock Z

I searched, I googled, I couldn't find a picture of a non-Nismo Z with Nismo Z muffler. Anyone have one?

I'm wondering the compatibility...I love the Nismo Catback but I really wish the muffler was different. Can I buy a Nismo y-pipe,and a Nismo mid-pipe and add the 2007-2008 Nismo Stock Muffler on this setup? I read somewhere I can...and read somewhere I can't. I'm sorry for making a new thread...flame on.

If you're going to buy an aftermarket y-pipe, I'd go with JIC or Tanabe. Not sure you can purchase the mid-pipe from the nismo exhaust separately.

You could try a tanabe touring, or tanabe hyper medallion exhaust. Similar tone as the Nismo catback, but a little louder with better looking tips.

Holy crap those tips look huugee. Thanks for that link, I can't believe I didn't find that thread.

Also- I planned on being patient and wait for someone to sell their used Nismo Catback parts. Thank you for the advice though.

The nismo catback system will NOT bolt up to the Nismo Z muffler. The flange angle and location is completely different. Same reason you can not use a nismo mid pipe on the stock muffler. Best bet is a used nismo full exhaust or settle for the stock mid- nismo Z muffler.

You sure about that? So no aftermarket midpipes will fit the stock NISMO muffler?

I was planning to do an aftermarket Y-pipe and midpipe in the future.

When it comes to exhaust..anything can be done (welding). It will just cost a bit more, and the resale value goes down. That's the way I see it.

Maybe these pics will help. I put a Nismo cat back on my 08 touring and it is awesome in both looks and sound. I think the HUGE tips on the Nismo would look like total rice on a non Nismo Z.

congrats, looks good.

and yea, it would be pretty ricey. I'm looking at the Tanabe Y-back and am really liking it. I assume a Nismo Y-pipe would fit because it has the same demensions as a stock Y-pipe, or am I wrong?

No, your right. Any after market y pipe will work.

What size piping is the stock midpipe? It would be nice to mate up a matching y-pipe to it.
