I did a search and didnt find such a post, admins, if you want to sticky this, feel free, if its already been covered, sorry, and you can delete this post :)

I haven't verified it with the info that you posted, but I ran across some differences in the wiring and pin numbers from the 2003/2004 and the 2004.5 Zs. I don't know if the wiring has stayed the same from the 2004.5 thru the 2005 & 2006 but I suspect it has.
So depending on what model year you have, those colors and pins may or may not be correct. |
dave, thans for the heads up, tis was pulled from a guide for 04, but if you know some difference, please post them :)
the easiest way to verify is with a test light that test for ground :) |
Thank you for saving us a dome light relay! Too bad Nissan doesn't specify each IO's operating current/voltage levels. For circuit protection Schottky diodes have a lower voltage drop than generic diodes. Mechanical relays compromise reliability, so minimize their use. Use a DVOM instead of a powered test light to reduce airbag risk.
|
For just the alarm install subset (there may be more deltas, or even the 2004.5 manual may be wrong) I found seven discrepancies noted by ">>".
***Trained Technicians must first DVOM validate definitions, as a mistake could easily cause a very expensive short. :icon20: *** Hazards green/red - brown plug, pin 61 at BCM >>29 Turn Signal(L) green/white + white plug, pin 22 at BCM >>45 Turn Signal(R) purple/white + white plug, pin 21 at BCM >>46 Door Trigger white (L), pink (R) - white plug, pin 14, 10 at BCM >>62, 12 Trunk/Hatch Pin red/white - white plug, pin 18 at BCM >>57T / 58H Trunk/Hatch Release pink - brown plug, pin 76 at BCM >>30 (The BCM's connector count is 70...) |

What dream724Z has observed is not that the 2004.5 manual is wrong, it's a different BCM connections.
Here's what I have for 2004.5 (and possibly 2005) BCM 12V constant supply (fused): gray 42 at BCM Ignition ON: white/blue 38 at BCM ACC ON: light-green 11 at BCM Driver's door switch: white 62 at BCM Passenger's door switch: pink 12 at BCM Rear Hatch switch: red 58 at BCM CAN data: blue 39 at BCM & pink 40 at BCM Ground black: 52 at BCM Door lock actuator: purple 50 at BCM Driver's door unlock actuator: yellow 44 at BCM Passenger's door unlock actuator: white/red 51 at BCM Rear hatch actuator: purple 68 at BCM Here are the connector diagrams for the 2003/2004 and 2004.5 BCM. |

Damn Bing I just realized that you posted this thread, thanks! I am hooking up my S2000 push button start right now thanks to your wiring diagram for the 03's =p
I have the carputer all wired up and ready to go too. I will call you when I get some time so we can tune this bad boy :icon38: -Prashant |

I'm sure someone in here can tell me what wire to splice in to get 1.21 gigawatts of power for my flux capacitor?
well if not that, can one of you tell me: 1. whether the Z's power seats use constant power or are only powered when the key is in the "on" position? 2. how much power does each seat require? 3. since my Z doesn't have a stock harness for this, what wire can I splice into to get the necessary power and if I do need a remote should I just go directly to the fuse box? thanks. |
If you want the wiring colors for any car, you should check out this site:
http://bulldogsecurity.com/ they cover most vehiles and there no registration necessary Update, they have included a 2003-2005 Nissan 350z wiring diagram |
Funny how they have Skyline GTR but no 350z haha
|
Thanks for the great reference!
Can you add a key to describe what your text means? For instance I am looking the illumination wire and you say: "Radio Illumination red/blue + radio harness " I think you mean: Signal: Radio Illumination Wire Color: Red with blue stripe Location: Radio Harness The problem is there is no red with blue stripe so I'm clearly wrong in my interpretation of your guide. Can someone please clarify this FAQ for us that don't know what the heck it means? Thank you in advance! <edit> Yes, I was correct in my assumption of what he was trying to say and the correct wire was just pointed out to me and it is in fact red with a blue stripe. It turns into orange on the radio wiring harness so thats good info to know for other n00bs like myself. |
White Wire for the PAC SWI-X
Anyone know where to connect the WHITE WIRE of the PAC SWI-X in a 2006 Z?
|
Since this subject comes up twice a month ...
|
Anybody know which wire is for the reverse lights in the BCM for an 06?
|
i think somebody needs to post a diagram for the 06.

I am re-doing my car pc setup using a carnetix P2140 regulator. This regulator has an input for turning on with a pulse (from 0 or floating to 12V) (http://www.carnetix.com/installation...anual_V1_2.pdf section 6) for use with an alarm system.
Would I be able to tap in to the light blue unlock wire to get the signal that I need? I checked it out with my multimeter and it looks like it is normally at +5V. I am guessing that it pulses low when I unlock the door, but it is too quick for my multimeter to pick up. So it looks like, for this to work, I would need another constant +5V source and a relay? If I can do this, is it a bad idea? |
check this place out http://www.aubreyandcharles.com/NissanServiceManuals/
|
so these wire colors anywhere in the car are what the guide says they are or only for certain places in the car
|
ok.. so i took on the daunting task of running new speaker wires through the SMJ harness in the doors... damnit
My doors will not lock electronically anymore.. everything else (windows, hatch lock, blah blah) works.. with these 2 wires listed above: Power Lock red - driver door module in door Power Unlock lt. blue (double pulse) - driver door module in door can i troubleshoot the issues? Like as in a voltmeter to see if they are getting juice while hitting the switch? And do the colors for the wires stay the same as they come out the SMJ harness into the door? |

I'd like to thank you in advance for doing some backwork on this. I followed wires all around a friends car while working on his audio ( no service manual ) and it was quite a pain.
Thanks again. |

Wire Colors
What are the colors from the headunit for the Front Speakers and Subwoofer?
Coming out of the headunit are there eight (8) total wires for the fronts (Left/Right Woofer/Tweet +/-) or is it only four (4) (Left/Right +/-) and what are the aforementioned colors that represent these wires? Where does the "EQ" take place in a 08 Bose system, within the headunit or within the amplifier? Thanks, I'll be putting on my flame suit... |

then open pg.pgf After getting into the hatch area, I was able to make sense of what I was reading... My install went well, the splicing was a pain... I wasn't able to get the sub signal to work as planned, so I just tapped into the signal from the fronts fed it through a crossover and sent it to my subs. Anyone that says JL is just a name has never used their Cleansweep product, worked amazingly well, I am very impressed by how easy it was to install, and how well it "cleaned" up the stock signal. I understand what people mean about the bass response from the stock location... i have the box firing upwards in the stock sub location... there just is not enough room for the sound to propagate correctly... I am not sure what I will do to fix this problem... Any advice would be welcomed in this department... Focals are definately worth the hype, but I will probably upgrade to Seas at some point in the future... older ears do not do so well with tweeters that can shatter glass. Thanks for the help |
FYI for anyone looking to splice into the Parking light circuit w/o having to go to the fuse block in the engine bay...
Btw, this was on an '03 Z Driver's kick panel, above the fuse block http://jon.capcik.com/pics/z/wiring/...ight_wire1.JPG Red w/ Blue stripe http://jon.capcik.com/pics/z/wiring/...ight_wire2.JPG Had to cut some of the zip ties holding the loom because it was very hard to bend (noted in yellow, one further up as well). It's also pretty hard to get a screwdriver up there to pop the clip loose. The red circle is where the white/blue ignition (ie. switched) wire is as well. http://jon.capcik.com/pics/z/wiring/...ight_wire3.JPG Hopefully this helps someone out, since there isn't much info on it, and there are multiple red/blue wires in the driver's kick panel. |
Subbed for the future wiring info. Thanks Guys.

Nice info....

I never took it apart. I just unplugged the harness going into the back of it, used the included wire splicers that came with the accessory, spliced them together, and then plugged the harness back in. |
This is the information i need but the pictures dont work, can anyone help me out. Im trying to hook up the wire from my Pioneer AVH4300 that lets it know the car is in reverse for the backup camera.

I cant find anything for the life of me online, and im pretty darn saavy. |
i have the same issue. i know it's been outdated. just intalled a kenwood ddx7015 and the speakers are clearly not correct. these are the right colors coming from the car, not the ones mentioned in any of the guides. -___- help?

For those out there trying to find a 12v power source for aftermarket gauges (navigation/cubby area) and use the radio/stereo for power, I believe that the yellow wire is a constant 12v source and the light green wire is a switched 12v source. Correct me if I'm wrong?
|
Thinking of buyin one of these remote alarms that also remote start your car for u. On my 03 350z fair lady..Has anyone here fitted one before

The LIGHT GREEN/TEAL is what I'm using to switch the modulator on |
