cRAYz4life man that alot of question. just picking. ok I will try to answer all of them.

Ok to get started, the drive motor is included. Me and my friend acually connect to a 9 volt battery source and got the door open and close. But not with the botton thought. We just sent power to it and it close and we reverse the current and it open. And no you cant just pull it down and close it cause the motor is running or these teeth like tracks. so unless you want to mess it up go ahead. So the thing is we think the motor is still going to be running if we keep it connected to a power source. So that what that guy was making that chip to do. That chip was post to do what the nav was post to do (open and close the door with the botton, and stop the motor at the right point.)

And as far as the gap yes I have check, dont you think I would done that. There are 4 screw hole that are post to attach to the dash, but only the top two only fit. The bottom two dont even come close to it. Dont know if it just mines or what, so that why I want to see if anyone else have done this mod and post some pics for me.

The back up cam I use was the pioneer one. Very nice I like it. And the montor I got off of ebay for around 100 something. Thanks for the advance on the Z1. I was thinking about using that piece but I got lazy and then I lost it. Also that circuit that you got. How is it hook up. do you have pics of his system. Thankz.

That's good to know that the motor does come with it. I know some electronics guys who should be able to come up with something to make it work. I'm gonna order one. That stock flip open door sucks.
Hopefully someone will post who has done this install already to clear up the fitment issue.

Do you happen to know the part number for the nav finisher piece?

The motion defeater circuit is really easy to hook up. It has 4 wires.
1. switched +12V
2. Ground
3. Illumination wire from Z1
4. Illumination wire from the 350Z harness
There are pictures and wiring diagrams on the avic411 site.

IMO I think the stock door is okay. If you guys are getting rid of yours how much would you sell it for? I think it has potential. Just gotta cut and fit and mount a screen in it. Don't really mind manually opening and closing, and not as expensive as buying the piece for courtesy!

Cool thanks for the info.. will look into ordering it. But I really dont need it now since I have the top screen. I just have my dvd playing on top and nav playing at the botton. Kind of want to keep legal also in case I get pull over if you know what I mean. I will just do the light trick if I go out of town or for a long drive, but other wise I think im ok. But thanks anyway.

Well the stock cubby is small and hard to get a screen in there. The only way possible is to remove the door. I have already tryed and I mess it up kind of bad that why I had to get this door. You can try some fiberglass and molding.. But you wont be able to keep that door.

You beat me to it Evobunny!

Mine is actually installed, but I'm waiting until I resolve a center console fitment issue (I don't have access to the two bolts that secured in the bottom/left&right corners of the OEM flip cubby, so I'm having trouble securing everything down).

And I'm going to find a way to fix the gap that you have in the first pic. I just need to get everything else straight first so I know exactly how to fill in that gap. I'm thinking a nice rubber trim piece, cut to fit, that stays out of the door's way would look ok. Have you had any thoughts?

And I notice you have not yet filled in the lower piece (where the OEM nav controls go).. Are you accessing the console bolts through that opening? I, unfortunately, filled that space perhaps a little too early.

My project is a custom gauge/switch panel in this area, behind the motorized door. And I've filled that lower space with a switch panel. !! So right now we're trying to figure out how to access those bolts without having to tear stuff apart.

Good job on your install! I hope to have pics of mine closer to completion by the end of the week.

Cheers,
-Smoky

Hey good to hear someone else have the gap problem to. Cause I was getting worry. I wonder why it dont fit perfect. I wonder if the dash kit for stock nav is different. Cause with this lid I cant even get clost to getting the bottom two screw on. I did buy the cover to cover where the stock nav botton goes. It also have fitment problem. Will post pics later.

Cant wait to see your pics also.

has anyone has come up with a solution about the circuit board since some of us dont have a navigation system to connect to the motorized lid cluster?

like evobunny said, that the nav system powers the motor and stops it when it is being fully retracted. since we do not have a nav sys., has anyone attempt to find a alternate solution to power the motor ..circuit board or something? ...

From what I've seen from the installs I've done, and checking out your equipment (no pun intended). More than likely the wires are not tucked away well enough and its pushing the plastic face out and not letting the clips set.

I have a similar issue because I use that area for most of my wiring for instament clusters, Avic D1, EDFC and other things. You just have to wiggle every thing out of the way sou you can seat it back. Takes alittle time but ... YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Yes and no, you want to move the wires out of the way so you dont cut into any thing. After the wires are clear you firmly set the clips. make sure the top tab is set first though, the one behind the cluster.

but punish...have u did anything about the wiring? u found any alternate source..since u have to wire it to the nav sys to power the motor...

with that motorize lid cluster..when u press the button to open it...it goes up..or u have to manually open it...but when u want to close it..u have to manually close it?

anyway..im just gonna stick wit the 03 cubby...less complication...
