Well I'm at the point now where I have everything I need to start my install..
Kenwood Z910DVD headunit
Farenheit T7001 7" Wide screen LCD
Kenwood KDC-C667 cd changer
Kenwood KTC-SR901 sirius receiver
Kenwood CX-SR10 sirius antenna
PPI PCX-2125 amp (fronts)
PPI PCX-250 amp (rears)
Diamond Audio HEX Series S600s 6.5 component set (front)
Diamond Audio 6.5" coax set (rear)
All Stinger Dream & Expert series RCAs, wiring, caps, dist blocks, etc etc.
100sq ft of B-Quite Extreme sound deadener
The plan was to finish this off with another PPI amp, the PCX-2200 (running it in 2ohm Stereo giving each sub approx 400w each) and 2 10" W6v2 subs in a custom fiberglas box from Nazar.
But now that the first part of the system is all purchased and the parts are finally sitting here (few items were on backorder) I'm starting to think I got myself into this waaaay to far and carried away! Because to finish the system off with the amp, subs, and box I just listed I'm looking at another easy $1700 if not alittle more, on top of what I've already spend so far! That bringing me to almost a $4k audio/video system for a car, WTF I am thinking! Seriously...$4k in a stereo...
, that's nuts! LOL
So now I'm trying to think of the best way to really trim down my last part of the $y$tem , but still keeping in mind that I already have some really nice equipment that I don't want to add just anything to for the sake of completing it. The and highs/mids are going to be really nice, esp. with such clean amps running them. So I don't want to end up with a great sounding stage...and then some crappy low end that sounds horrible!
Of the following, and keeping in mind the equipment that I already have listed above what would you do to lighten up the hit on the wallet....
Instead of the PCX-2200 running 2 10W6v2's in a custom box..
- go with 1 10W6v2, step down one level on the amp, and just get a standard box
- go with 1 12W6v2, step down one level on the amp, and just get a standard box
- go with 1 12W3v2, step down one level on the amp, and just get a standard box
- go with 2 10W3v2, step down one level on the amp, and just get a standard box

I have a single 10w7 in a box built by Nazar, matched with a JL 500.1 amp. I am extremely happy with it. I can't turn the sub level past the 1/4 mark on the head unit, or the bass becomes unbearable. This little 10" sub has crystal clear lows, and hits fast and hard when the tempo picks up. I am very impressed with it.
