Be sure to give it the 1.5ft^3 it needs.
The specs are very similar to the subwoofer that I was talking about doing for you ... just Xmax here = 14mm ... the one i was thinking was ~24mm. You'll be hard pressed to tell the difference with the 500W you have the other one .... do this :) http://wrskms.com/jimrhit/sub8 |

Jim I will e-mail you tomorrow and we will discuss the FJ.

5 farad cap? Thats .... um ... rediculous :) |
This is just me talking here ....
for symmetry sake .. I would flank the sub with one ofthe front amps on each side (if it fits of course) |
There is nothing wrong with SVC subs ... it wouldn't be bad to use two of them .... I think that amp would be ok at 2ohms :)
|
Your insane. The sub and the two larger amps cannot co-exist in the hatch. NOT HAPPENING. As for two 12s in the car. Holy bejeebus, as dynamic as that would sound I doubt two 12s could fit in the floor of the hatch with enough airspace to boot.

I had 2 12" TS-W12PRS in 2.75ft^3 in my Z :)
I'll see what pics i can dig up edit ... here ya go http://wrskms.com/jimrhit/fiberglass1.jpg http://wrskms.com/jimrhit/fiberglass2.jpg http://wrskms.com/jimrhit/fiberglass3.jpg http://wrskms.com/jimrhit/fiberglass4.jpg edit #2 - yes ... I am insane :) |

Ahah, I know that car! That was a while ago... I actually work at SoundTrax, and I remember that job well. I just joined up here at My350Z.com, and also just picked up my Z. Searching SoundTrax, I found this, and I was quick to say 'go figure'. If anyone's interested in getting a similar job like this, feel free to stop down. I'd be more than happy to accommodate fellow Z drivers.

The one for Z1 Performance, when we did the stealth enclosure with the McIntosh amplifier. The one with 'TOUGE' on the license plate, right? I think that was the same car... Anyways, I definitely remember because I helped with it.
Edit: And, whoops. I posted it in the wrong thread, that's why. |
nope, different cars, (Kwame has his, I have mine), but using some similar brands (Mac and Seas)
|
JL 10w7's are the best IMO and I have had a lot of subs over the past 20 years. Been into good sound and separation in cars for a long time. If you have good mids the w7's will rock for you long time.:)
|
Ah, okay. So there were two. I remember the one with the McIntosh amplifier well. Anyways, Adam, when I'm looking to increase my performance, I'm coming down to you guys. Think you can take care of me?
|
I'm running a w7 and i must say that i am less than impressed, but whatever....it does the job i guess.
|
It depends on what amp you're using. I get a lot of customers that spend all the money they have on the sub, and then chump change on an amp. Then, they complain that they're disappointed. If you're running a JL 1000/1 using 4 Gauge or larger wiring, that's where you get the best experience. And, if you are and you're still not satisfied, then there's something wrong with the sub. The W7 is excellent.
