350Z install we just did :) thought I'd Share
Hi All, new to the forum, just did a 350z, basically a clean, sound quality install. owners is building a carputer whcih is why the center console is still missing :) figure i would share the pics for comments and questions
3 way component upfront, i relocated the factory keyless module in the driver side kick so i can flush in the midrange. both kicks heavily fortified. ppi 5 channel and two crystal cmp8s, a crossfire 5.2 eq/xover resides directly behind the seat. we did a indirect 3d type of lighting effect with white LEDs :) requirement was that i can only go half way into the arch at the most, and have to keep the spare tire accessible. here are the humble pics :) http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/350z1.JPG http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/350z2.JPG http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/350z3.JPG http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/350z4.JPG http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/350z5.JPG http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/350z6.JPG http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/350z7.JPG http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/350z8.JPG http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/350z9.JPG |

nah, its a custom pieces of milled aluminum accent grill bar to act mostly as cosmetic purposes but also for some protection.
:icon18: lol no it is indeed a modified towel bar :) acutally things like towel bars, door handles and such gets quite a bit of usage in car audio, mostly to be used as protective pieces :) i was going to going to make my own out of alum piping, but honestly, would come out looking almost he same, and people would probably still ask me if it was a towel bar its a polarizing piece of course, some poeple like it, some dont, but the customer likes it, and thats all it matters :) |

not a good idea since all the sound bounce off the floor. ALso, you might kick the speaker if you happen to use the foot rest. |
not your fault given the rules you had to work with, but i thinki tolooks better if it is flush wiht the strut bar
|
I wondered about cuz I wear a size twelve.

I like the kicks, what 3 way set-up did he choose?
To bad he kept his silly spare, (and stock HU?) because you could have gone nuts with it removed! |
VEry clean and professional!

thanks.
well, its getting a carputer set up, and the owner is finishing that up right now, one of our own 7" touch screens will go up in the navi pocket :) yeah stock radio remains...unless he wishes to change it :) as for the three way set, we have a combination of DEI studio and CDT, the DEI i chose for smooth off axis, just like the CDT. b |
very nice, looks pro

very nice~ i like

That's sweet man, very clean install. I'm surprised people don't like the towel rack idea, it's excellent to stop things in the trunk from running into the subs and damaging them, some people don't like mesh grills over their subs.
I would have put my component in the kicks, infinity lists 4 ways to mount their kappa perfect 6.1s and the optimal positioning they recommend is both the tweeter and the woofer in the kick panel. You'd have to try pretty hard to kick a speaker out of there...i mean your foot is perpendicular to the speaker. |
@16psibrick - Where did you relocate the factory keyless module to? I have a set of CDT HD642's that I'm looking to install without losing the dead pedal.

let me see if i can find a pic i took, basiclal toward the front of the kick panel (more towards the door), in the end all i had to do was to extend the one harness that comes from near the fire wall..
