Gutting headlights adding LED's

I see people are gutting there headlights for weight reduction, was planning on doing this also. The car is track only, but I was think of adding a set of these in the front bumper, weigh nothing and pulls no watts. This way you would still have something on those darker mornings or rain days

Thinking of these:

I didnt know people gutted their headlights to save weight, what is there to gut anyways? Everything is plastic and light. Most people are going to say that is going to look rice or audi imitation

Or just buy the eBay version and don't run/cutout the main ballast

Yea will be ricey but racecar no care

Do it

speaking of gutting headlights I removed blinker/headlight switch and added detachable steering wheel. Does anyone know which wires are for headlight highbeam so I can add a switch?

Thanks

You don't need headlights on a track only car unless you run at night. Tracks and sanctioning bodies only require working brake lights. I wouldn't bother with a LED conversion. Just take the headlights out and cut away everything behind the lens except the minimal amount of structure needed to mount the lens in place. Then remove all the headlight wiring, relays, and fuses from the wiring harness.
