Got my TEINs installed, help from other TEIN owners pls.
My TEIN are ifinally nstalled along with the EDFC...
first impressions! 1. Build Quality: Very nice indeed. Machined strut body, good coat (power?) over the springs. nicely machined perches 2. Ride: on ultra soft setting (front 16/rear 16) the stock jittery bounce is totally gone. very chill. on super stiff (0/0) ride isnt that bad but handles quite nicely. 3. EDFC buttons are bit small to push, but overall quite impressed. BUt i noticed when you turn OFF the controller, the settings are erased Question: the rear suspension, when on soft, soft-medium setting, you can hear the shock squish and there is a bit of rattling noises coming from the rear. i dont know if this is normal. can anyone help me? is this normal? i dropped it only like 1/2 an inch for now.. (i.e. 10mm) going in for alignment tomorrow morning... picts will be posted soon :) --Cheston |
Hey Congrads on the purchase - I'm not far around the corner! :)
The cushy cush sound is normal - I believe other people have commented on it prior. :) |

Very nice, Cheston!!
I will be getting TEINs next month. Who installed for you? I am thinking of putting the EDFC in the Nav. compartment (since I don't have Nav.) Do you know if it'll fit?
Thanks, M.;) |
Hey Moodie- I'm also looking at the Tein's within the next month or so. When you get yours installed let me know where. I'm still trying to find a solid shop up here in the bay area.
Chebosto- Congrats- the EDFC looks good there. |
Do it yourself, it's insanely easy. Hardest part will be the wiring of the edfc if you go with that.

Yeah, I got that irritating noise from the back too. I wonder if anyone has any idea how to get rid of the noise. StoneZ> Hey, how much was your installation cost? |

Dan,
Where do you install your edfc? I mena where do you locate it? How many hours do 1 need to install the EDFC wiring? Thanks |
Guys,
Do we need to do alignments after the installation? And also, do you guys know anything abt the warranty? Does it affect the warranty? Coz it;s got to do with the wiring. |
Re: Re: Got my TEINs installed, help from other TEIN owners pls.
the noise is a rattling. sounds like metallicy.
i think i will lookat the top of the rear shocks tomorrow. hopefully it will be ok when i drive home... it goes away when the EDFC is set on full stiff Zero/Zero only hear it when its at Half or Soft setting. hmm... Originally posted by SandMan The rattling is it a tinny noise or like a rumbling? If the noise is a tinny sound like sort of metallic, then you need to wrap the wires running through the top of the strut with cushioning. If the sound if like a rumbling, then you need to tighten the bolt on top of the shocks. |

the squishing sound is normal when on soft.. its the sound of oil moving chambers passed the valve.
here is a pic of my edfc install: |

Chebosto, you removed all the plastic pieces on the rear strut tower bar to install the EDFC, right?
Well, after you re-installed the plastic pieces, the pieces aren't as tightly packed as before you removed them, so now they're rubbing against each other. That's what the squeeky/metallic noise is. I guess you can fill in the cracks with some type of a filler to get rid of the noises. I have the same noise. |

Yea. its the plastic parts. i have to do some Dremel Time to cut grooves into the plastic for the wire to run so they're not whacking into everything.
as for SkiDazzle's install.. where's the GLOCK!?! :) VQ: no elbow bump.. i was thinking of making a flip top out of brushed aluminum....
