Thought i would post up my thoughts and review for this coilover since i just had time and i just feel like blogging. anywho:
Zeal Coilovers at factory 10kg/mm F and 8kg/mm R spring rates.
Street:
These coilovers are very very good. i am probably one of the biggest nitpickers of how my car reacts on the road and i cant stand rattles/noises that should NOT be there.
Install:
Was very straightforward, nothing big to explain here
Noise:
Very minimal. I say this afterdriving/owning many brands of coilovers on my z. i have had/driven on hks-hypermax 2's and LS's, Tein Flex, Cusco, JIC's(yuck
) and apex coilovers. These Zeals amke the least amount of noise. in fact, i took them on about a 2.5hr road trip this weekend and tracked them very hard, and drove back no problem.
Ease of adjustability:
The fronts have a dial on the top of the strut SHOWING you what setting your on, no clicks no loss of counting, no enough clicks no too little clicks. just a visual NUMBER to tell you where your at.
Ride quality/Bumps:
By far the best coilovers when it comes to ride quality. I am crruently set at 4 front an rear out of 6 total adjustability. i tpok a couple people for a drive and they could not tell as to if i even had aftermarket suspension. no jarring ride, no bounce nothing, silent and plush, yet frm at the same time. the ONLY time you'll notice it is when you go over those freeway expansions thaty just suck anyways.
Now my track ime/experience:
Saturday, i took my car to horse thief mile at willow springs. this track has bumps and major elevation changes and is very tight; an excellent place to test these babies out.
I took part in a drift AND grip group. basically, i was on track all day from about 10am-3pm. these coils did not miss a beat at all. they are intended for street/occasional track use so they are a little on the soft side- i will later be trying out a tru-coil rear setup with higher rates in the future. the car felt planted all day and during the drift sessions, i couls place my car anywhere on the track i wanted to, even during tandem practice.
so all in all, coilovers get a A+ from me. if you have the budget, and demand "The Upmost Quality" these are for you!
oh, and this thread would notbe complete without at least one pic:

which functions are they? function V or function Xs? My function V's actually use the spring perch in the rear, without the coil over the damper
I have my function V's set to 2 front and 1 rear. I started off with 4 front, and 3 rear, then 5/5, then messed with it more, trying higher and lower numbers in different combinations, but noticed the car felt more stable when I actually backed the damping down to the lower settings and seemed like I got better traction when driving on the street. I was also testing it out by dodging around some speed bumps behind a grocery store at 1am to get a sense how the car was reacting - I'd leave after 3 min though and go to another place to avoid any cops that might have been called hearing the tires screaching
