Any Lowering Springs That Don't Effect Ride Quality?
I just bought my '01 mustang gt for an '06 350z and one of the first things im planning is to lower it... my mustang was slammed and after 2 years of feeling every crack in the road i want to sacrifice the absolute LEAST ride quality possible. Also i only want to lower it an inch or so because i dont want to get into new caster/cambers, etc.
So, does anyone know of a good set of lowering springs that would give me a nice stance while still keeping the comfortable ride i have now? Any help is greatly appreciated. |
On a sports car that is already low to the ground, going lower make its a lot worse.

I didn't notice much difference when I switched to the Hotchkis TVS kit. If you get some Bilsteins or Koni's and make sure they are adjusted right you'll probably regain any ride quality you lost and maybe be better off. Shocks are mainly responsible for ride quality.

I'm using Hotchkis springs on OEM shocks on my 2006 350z. The ride doesn't seem to much more harsh than the OEM springs. Lowers about 5/8" front, 3/4" rear. You will be able to get aligned within OEM camber and toe specs, but naturally you will end up with more negative camber than OEM so.
NOTE: The vendor I bought the Hotchkis springs from claims that Hotchkis revised their 2003-2005 springs to be compatible with the 2006 suspension, which was revised from previous years. Other people tell me that Hotchkis never made such an adjustment. I don't know what to believe. However if I recall correctly, the spring rate on the rear Hotchkis springs is lower than that of the rear 2006 OEM springs. But please do your research and double check me. |

^ I disagree. Having been in countless coiled Z's and springed Z's I would suggest
Tein H-Techs. Z's w coils are almost universally more jarring than those lowered w any spring. |

I also used the Hotchkis springs for years, and they rode great. I always thought the ride quality was just about the same as stock, for what it's worth.

Tein S Tech are your best bet for a mild spring on a revised suspension car, such as an 06 |
that's the summation. somehow i missed this was for a nismo.
adam is correct as usual. and basically has the best pricing on any item you're looking for. :) I thought this for an '06 350z? |

Coilovers woul dbe a good choice because that way, you'll get a springs/damper that's made for each other and the ride quality will be nice. Just depends on your budget. |
