I had a set and they're alright for someone who doesn't want to wait on a set of used OEM Brembo's but... in retrospect I would've bought a set of StopTech's or Wilwood's.

I got mine from CZP, the shipping were pretty quick. The bracket required some machining to fit perfectly not sure if other had the same issue.

I'm pretty happy with it. Big improvement in pedal feel over stock 07 brakes. Never seen track yet, but I didn't experience any fade during the bed in process.

I sold them to SparkleCityHop and the Brembo's are gone too... All I have is the one's on my car:icon38:

I went with the Hawk HPS pads.
Endless is quite a step up.

I suggest the Akebono brakes for those who are / or have been looking for a set of Brembo's. You can't go wrong with a brand new set of brakes for 2g's.

What is *stopping power*? Did ya measure comparative 100-0 distances?
Thing is, those brakes are FUGGIN HEAVY:eek:! 30lbs for fronts alone. For example...a floating 14" (2pc) rotor..say Stoptech.. is 10 LBS+ LIGHTER.
Multiply that on all 4 corners (give or take) and you're talking reduced accelertation. This is rotating unsprung weight here folks.
True..they look great and are affordable. Yes, they will reduce heat build up, but floating Aero rotors will do so much more efficiently.
Not tryining to bash your set up..but it's for *show* not *go*.

^ You can always get 2pc rotor for Akebono. W/e 2pc rotor they make for 370z can be used. 22lb vs 30lb

They are extremely heavy... my Brembo's were portly too but not anywhere near the Akebono set up.

The calipers alone are pretty damn heavy.

Depend what you compare them to. They're way lighter than the '07 non-brembo calipers.

O btw, only the front weight 30lb. Rear's are 13.8x0.8 that only weight 20lb. Racing Brake's 2pc rear will cut that down to 15lb.

If you're that concerned about rotation/unsprung weight you better be rocking some lightweight 18s.

They're about the same weight as my OEM 04 non Brembo set up... heavier than an OEM Brembo set up... way heavier than my Endless 6/4-pot set up and they're about 2-3mm thicker so wheel selection can be a b!tch. I'm rolling on 19" TE's. By adding another $800 to the $2k you've dumped into them(lines, shims, pads, etc) you've bought yourself a used set of StopTechs or a new set of Wilwood's. I've had ALLL three(4 if you want to include the OEM non brembo's) set ups so I speak of experience and that's not up for debate.

'07 non-brembo caliper is 2 pot versus the single pot on your '04. It's a lot bigger and heavier.

But I see your point about getting a used set. I rather not buying used brake parts hence why I didn't go with OEM Brembo in the first place.

What you're saying is definitely true.

That's one of the more common complaints about the Akebono's.
One of the mods compared the weight. (Chebesto?)
They are HEAVY.

All in all.
I LOVE my brakes. Screw the 03-05 OEM.

PS. I'm biased. My old brakes completely hit the can anyways. :rolleyes:
