Did you get a 350Z?

i remember I wanted a Z with a low down payment. Look at my other thread from a while back. Anyways, I'm trying to save 20 g's for a down payment, opening up a 2nd CD. and if all goes wel by november 13th when my CD has matured. I will be purchasing a Z... If I do not save at least 20g's. I will probably be buying an RSX-s. something I can afford. I bet a Z is a great car all around, it gets a lot of attention, but it is not worth going to work 30+ hours a week+ going to school just so that you can pay off your car and get an education. So if you are really serious about buying it than just save for a hugea$$ down payment. If I save anything below 20, I will probably just get an RSX-s.

You're getting excellent advice to hang on to that Civic, for all sorts of reasons. Hope you're smart enough to pay attention!

If you can save up to $20k why not just buy something a little cheaper cash or save a little longer for the Z? One thing I highly recommend is that you have money saved up after you get out of school. I would just hate to see you in school working all the time and not being able to enjoy the real college life style.

College gets expensive, there are fraternities, beer, girls, girls, beer, girls, beer, beer, beer, girls, girls, and beer. Did I mention girls and beer? Oh yeah, sometimes you have to go to class....

take this advice:
first, are you making 1800 a month? or will you make 1800 a month? if you are already making it.. what have you saved? If you are going to make it.. don't count your chickens before they hatch. I would find someone who trusts you enough to cosign that has good credit. If not you'll be paying all interest for the first couple years of your payments for your Z.

As far as the Vandalism. I go to school in my Z (modded Z) and i have no problems with vandalism. I came up to the parking garage one time to find 2 guys standing there staring at my car, but they didn't look like they were about to vandalize it. They also complimented me. I've been to school for 2 years and so far so good.

Also, You are 17, what makes you happy now might not be the same thing when you are 19. At that age, your opinions change a lot. This would be a big investment for someone your age and with your income. Think long and hard about this. It could have dire consequences.

You would never qualify in a million years at 17 making 1800 a month.. Co-signer basically would have to buy the car for you.. Keep da civi and graduate = ferrari!

Stick with the civic!!! I bought my Z a year before I was even thinking about school. I'm only in my second semester and paying for tuition, books, rent, car note, etc...is exhausting. Save, save, save. You'll be much happier for it when you finally buy your Z.
