Default What to Use to Shine your Tire's

....Does anybody know what to use to shine up tires besides Armor All?...Armor All doesn't last for a long time and it also doesn't have that shinny gloss that I've seen on others...I think its that blue liquid stuff that carwashes use? They usually dip thier paintbrush adn use it to shine it up....Any info. would be cool. Thanks...

Sometime 303 Aerospace Protectant...

Usually Blackfire... really nice, satin finish ! As quoted from the Proper Auto Care site:

"Long lasting, deep black tires without product sling-off!

Blackfire Long Lasting Tire Gel is engineered from a new group of German Super Polymers. The thicker, gel viscosity allows uniform application and minimizes sling-off on body panels. Treated tires retain a rich, black finish that lasts wash after wash. Long Lasting Tire Gel contains no butyl of any kind, no alcohols and no petroleum distillates. It will not eat up foam applicators. In fact, This dressing is so safe it boasts no significant skin, inhalation or ingestion hazard. We don't recommend drinking it but it's the safest tire dressing in the industry. You can even pour it in your garden! It will not affect soil or any organisms. It has no environmental impact!

Does it work? Absolutely fantastic! Better than anything we've tested."

Forgot to mention... the process starts with.. Blackfire Gel Wheel and Tire Cleaner and ends with ..... Blackfire Long Lasting Tire Gel

"Quite possibly the world's most advanced wheel cleaner, BLACKFIRE takes advantage of recent breakthroughs in chemical engineering to create a new class of cleaner. The new, non-ionic surfactant in BLACKFIRE Gel Wheel & Tire Cleaner quickly and safely cleans tires and all types of wheels including aluminum, clear coated, painted, polished and anodized. The active ingredient in this cleaner was developed by a Swedish chemical company in 2002 to replace the acids and butyl ethers found in most tire and wheel cleaning products."

Here is the link to Blackfire products... http://www.properautocare.com/blackfire.html

The Zaino stuff looks the best to me. Deep black look and not super shiny. Makes tires look fresh and new.

I use Black Chrome or Mcguires cloth it on.

For simplicty the Wet N Shine works decent. It's a spray on.

I hate spray on's because they go all over the rim and even on the car. I use a mcguires tire shine. Its a purple jelly that you put on a towel and run onto your tires. Works great.

I started using Mother's Tire Shine a few months ago, and it does a great job. It looks kinda like suntan lotion...you just pour some on the applicator sponge rub it into the tires. Quick, easy, and no need to wipe it off afterwards. 2 coats per tire gives a great shine.

You probably want to check out this subject on www.autopia.org

I was in the same position you are in a couple of weeks ago. After reading thru that site for a couple of days, I decided to go with the Meguires Endurance. It's not bad for the tires, it usually lasts a couple of weeks and it doesn't sling off easily.

There are a number of opinions and reviews on Autopia regarding tire preparations. Many say to stay away for Armor All and other products that contain solvents, they can damage the rubber and make it turn brown. The same for silicone based products. The other complaints about a lot of products were the short lifespan and getting slung-off the tires.

Visit Autopia, I've learned an awful lot there over the last couple of months. I'm not too keen on using my new Z as a guinea pig, I'm happy to learn from somebody elses mistakes.
