07 track results

Well I finally got a chance to get to the drag strip tonight. The car just hit 1,150 miles so I said why not! First off first gear did not exist. I had to do 1/2 throttle until 2nd then hit it or else I would just spin. So my best time was a 13.6.4 @ 104.68 with a horrible 2.201 60'. I did not want to rock the tires to much. In a weak or two ill go back with my other set of rims. This was done completely stock down to the tires. I smell a 13.4 easy with a good driver. I ran 14.00 with my 04 with mild mods so I am sure someone better can achieve nice numbers.

High 13.3 with a good driver easy. Great trap, get that 60ft down and you'll be golden.

For comparison my Z with 260whp and a bad 2.28 60ft ran 13.5 @ 106mph....

blueper4mancez 02-28-2007 04:38 PM

damn nice trap on the 07

jdifolco 02-28-2007 04:43 PM

yea I am pretty excited. I really wanted to get a 2.0 but next time i guess when it warms up a bit.

Mid117 02-28-2007 04:47 PM

jdifolco - Which track did you go to? You need to join http://www.tsz33.com, local ny/nj/ct 350z club.

holy crap 105 bone stock....I am speechless, I'd love to see what it does on a good run

3hree5ive0ero 02-28-2007 04:54 PM

So we finally get to see results from an 07 on the drag strip. And WOW..

13.4s are definitely within reach. Work on that 60' and keep us updated.

jdifolco 02-28-2007 04:55 PM

I was at Englishtown tonight. Yea ill check that it looks good shoot me a PM and we will talk about it

blasian 02-28-2007 04:57 PM

Awesome time dude. Thanks for posting it for us

philude 02-28-2007 04:57 PM

holy crap. that's very impressive. anyone else with the pre-07s feel kinda intimidated?

No :D

zman1910 02-28-2007 04:59 PM

That is a great time for an 07 stock. Very impressive trap speed. With a good 60ft you could easily lower your time..congrats and its finally nice to see some real 07 Z numbers

Alberto 02-28-2007 05:03 PM

I said this to all my friends here locally-judging by what C&D trapped in a heavy a$$ G sedan-with slicks and a good driver an 07' Z can run 12.99-now who wants to let me drive their 07' I'll provide the slicks:)

Mid117 02-28-2007 05:04 PM

i feel stupid for buying the 06 revup, not waiting for 07.

+1

jdifolco 02-28-2007 05:30 PM

it definitely can hit that with the right driver. Ill let someone else be the guinea pig though lol.

meaj82 02-28-2007 05:37 PM

Thats What I'm talking about. This is the way the z should have came in the first place

trey.hutcheson 02-28-2007 05:57 PM

Congrats. Those times are definitely encouraging. And I'll bet that even if you didn't change a thing(launch, etc), you might squeeze out another 2mph.

And Bert, my wife has one of those heavy @$$ sedans, 6mt, on order. Should be here in/around May. You could always come down to Bama and give it a whirl. That was my wife's reaction after she read your "heavy @$$ sedan" comment :)

I'll have my 16" wheels(16 pounds each) and BFG's by then as well.

I knew the 07 would own the previous year Z's so color me not surprised. Intimidated? Well yeah, I'm stock :(

I've been saying it all over the forums for months.

My prediction was mid 13s as an average time and you'll see some low 13s with probably a couple of even more freakish high 12s or 13 flats. Traps most likely will fall in the 102-105mph stock.

Mark my word. :)

I wonder when people are starting to put mods on them what times we will see...

98sr20ve 02-28-2007 06:11 PM

Great potential on the HR. No doubt.

davidv 02-28-2007 06:19 PM

Stop with the pitiful this and horrible that. Its self-patronizing. 13.64 seconds is respectful. Nice driving. I think this is our first 2007 time.

davidv 02-28-2007 06:26 PM

Not yet. But when jdifolco runs 2.0 seconds he will surely kick my butt.:)

hehe... 13.64 used to be a great time for an n/a Z.

For the 07' it is just an all right time.

Agree it is not pitiful, there will be worst than this, but there will definitely be better too.

05-Z 02-28-2007 06:30 PM

Just wait untill you throw a few popchargers on there, low 12's will be in reach.

:p :D

DevinB 02-28-2007 06:33 PM

Holy ****. This is really exciting news to hear.

Anyone know how hard it would be to trade in an 03 Touring with 43k on the clock for a new 07? :)

jdifolco is a practiced racer. I can definitely see 13.40 seconds.

WalkerT 02-28-2007 06:48 PM

That is what I thought it would do. Now I need to mapquest the local dealer :(

jdifolco 02-28-2007 07:34 PM

i got 5 runs in a bunch of 13.7s, 14.0. yea i had to rent mine because u cant use the old helmets anymore, its only 4 bucks.

clipso 01 03-01-2007 06:34 AM

CONGRATS!!!

That is a real nice for the new 07. I cant wait to see what these cars do once mods and slicks or DR's come into play.

Yep, once you get that 60ft down you should be 13.3 easly.

Later
Todd

QuicksilverZ33 03-01-2007 05:24 PM

Will you provide a new transmission too? :icon17:

warmmilk 03-01-2007 05:28 PM

are u shifting at the redline? cause i have an 07 and it feels like it hits the fuel cut before the redline. to me it seems the quickest shifting at about 7250, but i didn't really get a chance to play with that much cause i just finished break in on sunday night and the weather has been crap since.

the next test n tune at the local track is on march 18th, i'm gonna try to make it out if the weather permits, hopefully the weather will let me get some practice in before then to

Yea I know what you mean redline comes fast. I shift a little before like you said because by the time you react and actually shift its basically at redline... For some reason the shift light seems a bit off or maybe its just me going crazy :icon11: :

i just got back from raping my z and i can't get a good launch for anything, maybe it being near freezing has something to do with it. it seems i get the best results (still not that great) slipping the clutch a hair under 2k and shifting about 2-3 hairs under the redline

a friend of mine has an 04 z (stock) and i was able to launch his near perfect from the first try and every time after that, but i never drove it in near freezing temps

another thing thats killing me is wheel hop, I HATE IT :icon20:

Zerk 03-01-2007 07:44 PM

Nice times. I'm surprised Englishtown opened up already. I'm waiting on Atco.

GFrnk69 03-01-2007 09:40 PM

Isnt that the 2nd fastest Z time? (bone stock)
And the HR has only ben out for a month or so.

And the rev-up owners said give em some time and they will be on the board with fast times

-Frank

gprro1 03-01-2007 10:25 PM

nice! wonder if the HR is going to respond to mods??? It already breaths and exhales better than the rev-up. Lighten that thing up, ti exhaust, battery, ditch the tools and spare. 3.9's would be nice if you can get traction.

Blacryan 03-01-2007 11:30 PM

DAMN! I am very very happy.

lol, they will probably lose power. bolts ons dont seem to do much to the previous models.

Playboy's Z 03-01-2007 11:51 PM

yessssssssssss props bro

VicPham 03-02-2007 12:33 AM

wow....I need to hurry up and mod my car more to be able to keep up with the new 07 Z.

The temp was 43 degrees when you ran your car. I would like to see what it would do in 90 degree weather.

Skorch 03-02-2007 02:05 AM

That's an amazing time. I will be getting my '07 Z soon and I was hoping for somewhere in the mid 13's for the 1/4 mile, which means I'll finally be able to take my friend's Camaro SS. (His best time so far was 13.6)

03ZHIFT 03-02-2007 02:19 AM

Nice trap speed.. I tryed to goto the 1/4 mile track in bradenton last night but about 15 minutes before I got there a RX7 flipped 3-4 times on the track. They were cleaning it up forever.

So I payed $20 to sit there in line for 2 hours, drive 1.25 hours each way, and no even get to run down the track once. Fun Fun.
