What is your best 60ft on street tires, not dr's.

I got my best today. I pulled a 1.881 on some 245/45/17 Falken Ziex 512's with 360 treadwear.

What has been your best on actual street tires.

jackie chan May 7, 2007 05:04 AM

i drive a 95 cobra with a crappy susp, but ive been multiple 1.86s with 250rwhp

Welcome to Fbody land....2.1 is my best... I've heard a few guys have seen 2.0 and very few 1.9s on stock susp and street tire.

BriGuyMax May 7, 2007 07:27 AM

2.0 was my best bone stock three years ago. I only make like 6 or 7 passes back then and since then I haven't been on anything less than a DR. My car would be a joke now with a street tire.

volcomrider6 May 7, 2007 07:28 AM

How are you launching?

ajcool2 May 7, 2007 11:22 AM

I pulled a 2.009 on stock tires my first time out. I'm an automatic also. :D

350zSteve May 7, 2007 11:43 AM

I pulled consistant 1.9-2.0s when my Z was stock, I havent been back since then..

04treefiddy May 7, 2007 03:05 PM

Yeah i'm making 390rwhp/327rwtq and ran that.... I revved it to 3500rpms slipped it out till i felt the car moving and then planted it. The track was just hooking. I ran several low 1.9 60fts.

ZIABLO May 7, 2007 04:05 PM

2.0 on my stock z with Goodyear Eagle F1-GS D3's on 18" LMGT4s

Alberto May 7, 2007 04:15 PM

2.052 on my 2nd run EVER in the car bone stock. I only ran the car 3X on stock tires, I had one other 2.09 and a 2.12 60ft. Not to bad over 3 years ago with stock tires...

Good time....I remember reading a thread you started about your times. Do you have any info on why those Falkens hook up better than most street tires. Is it the compound or the tire pressure you run or is it just a well prepped track that you go to.

04treefiddy May 7, 2007 05:41 PM

I'm just a well preppe track.. They are a hard compound tire. I run about 29/30psi in them at all times.

Did you hit your best stock 60ft or best stock time on your 2nd pass ever?:icon39:

I run Toyo's on the street and there just about done so I think I'll give the Falkens a shot, that way I don't have to put my D/R's on when I go to the track. I've been consistant with a 1.7 60' on D/R's so it will be interesting to see if I can match that on street tires. What vendor did you get them from?

Thanks

Alberto May 7, 2007 05:58 PM

Discount Tire sells Falkens and they are a vendor...

It was either my second or third bish, can't remember...

350Z_LEE May 7, 2007 07:20 PM

2.0 when I was on stock tires with open diff. Now with FI and DR's on open diff my best was a 1.79, but that does not happen often. I am in the process of getting the carbonetics lsd. After that, I think I should be able to get some consistent 1.7-1.8's on my Nitto DR's.
