what's the best tire setup with brembos

hallo mates, help needed. i am currently installing a gt37r kit with occasional drag racing in mind. given my location i am limited in choice and wanna be 100% sure before buying. in what i gather 16' min for clearing the brembo's but which rims and tires would be best. i can get 300zx 16 but what tires. planing on switching my 19's at the track so just as well go full slicks but what will fit.... don't wanna roll fenders.

16 inch wheel with an offset similar to what you are running now should be OK. But why risk a poor fit. Why not 17 inch wheels to clear oversized rotors?

Members who appreciate replacing rear axles run 9.0 inch slicks.;)

I am making 444whp with my 35r and have no problem with my Mickey thompson et street 2's. They even make them in 18's. Look on vette or supra forums for good reviews on drag radials, I have found that most use these.

I have two of those for sale, but they are 295/35/18.

Just FYI - the 300ZX TT rear wheels (16x8.5") are an excellent selection for drag wheels; however, they will not fit over the stock rear Brembos without notching the splines on the wheel.

This is the tire you want. The plus side on these as a drag setup is that you can drive them to the track.

300zx i could probably get, just curious what the use of those splines. how much do you notch away. does this make the rim weaker?

Not really notch "away" but more of a rounding in the contact area. A little dremel and you're set to go.
