Z and G Beginner Drift Day
Hello Everyone,
In the recent months a few of us with VRT have had the wild hair to learn the art of Drifting. It isn't easy yet IMO it is the single greatest car control skill I have experienced. I met Naoki the Manager of Drift Day as well as a bunch of great Drifters. Their staff have asked VRT if we would like to plan and organize a Z and G Beginner/Intermediate Drift Day Event here in Southern Cali. If it sounds interesting, please hit this thread up. Usually the cost is a couple hundered bucks per day and I am sure some world class Drift Pros will attend to give us all some pointers. Here is some video of our first two Drift Events where we actually were taught by Taka Aono, won of Formula Ds best Pros and after graduating the Drift 101 Class, here is what I can Do. Now, I road race alot, so I am not green behind the wheel, yet I NEVER REALLY COULD DRIFT until now. It is awesome! Let me know. I'd be interested.

Hey Guys, I went up with mike to this Drift Day event, and let me tell you it was a complete blast...Drifting is one of the most fun things i have ever done. Especially when you are learning from Top 10 professional D1 drivers.
The Black G in there is mine:) I would very much encourage everyone to go. The classes are worth every penny...Even if oyu don't plan on becoming a drifter or anything this is a Great Car Control experience. And if you come to the class, don't forget to bring another set of tires:):) |

We will start getting a count... Alot of fun and the best driving skills for Road and Track for sure. Want to make this clear, we are promoting this because I feel it is amazing and we all good stand to become better drivers no matter what your current level. Always room for improvement! M :) |
I'll be down to come out! (i dunno when my Z will be done)
Taka is way cool! Yoshie (his gf) is a great drifter too! She encourages all the female drivers to come out too!! |
I would love to go, but I am nowhere near prepared. The only set of wheels/tires I have is the Nismos with expensive Sport Cup tires, and I am not burning those up. I will have to see if my OEM track model 18s clear the APs. Then get a set of street tires for those. When is it?

if its an all Z event, ill see if naoki could use some staff help and bring out my Z.

Will start to keep a tally. Just want to come with the Drift Boys with a real group before I start talking real Plans... Thanks. M :) |
Let's pick a date and start a list. How many would you need to make it work?
As for tires, I'm thinking of just putting the stock rears on the back. When I burn those off I'll put the stock fronts on back. Won't be the prettiest setup but that should work right? After I burn up 4 tires I think I'll call it a day. Gary

I'd say save the Hoosiers and I could order you a set of cheap tires with a good wear rating for the drift day. When your done with the drift tires just have your hoosiers remounted and your ready for autocross again.
