no way you're getting that done for less than $5k unless you cut serious corners that make it not worth owning after the fact.

Your rad support is caked and you will need time on a frame rack just to check if it's true anyways. And considering how far back the impact is you definitely also tweaked the unibody and upper rail.

I would estimate between $9k - $12k to fix that car properly if it isnt a total loss completely.

on the + side, your friend wasn't hurt, so you get to kick his *** without any guilt.

That's a BIG hit.
If it's repaired for less than 10K CDN I would be impressed.

? Rad supports on a Z are plastic. They unbolt completely and they are inexpensive

not 5K$ more like 10K$ for a good work and most of parts news

the light lamp alone its about 1000$
have to change, fender, hood, suspension arm, bumper+bumper beam, corner, inner fender, rad support, one suspension ? ac rad ?
the troubles its to find it used, and you have to repaint all the front and a little bit the right side (couple of K$)

good luck with your friend
and i have a perfect silverstone oem hood if you want lol

i'd go through insurance.
Its not worth it to dish out a few thousand dollars to dish out a car that costs only 20K or so to replace.
my brother totalled his rsx type s and his premium went up 250 bucks for the year, which is 20 bucks a month and started going lower again. He's only 21 too...
Atleast you'll be paying for the repairs monthly in a sense, since your insurance may go up a little, rather than taking a hit of 2 to 3 grand.
new good, fender, replacement wheel, tire, hub, spindle and the list goes on.
Not worth it to not report. Your insurance won't go up by that much.

yes, you need fenders for the conversion. i've done the 06-08 conversion and my 03 fenders come out of place and rub against the tire. The fender liners are smaller for the 03. i changed over the 06 fenders and they fit perfectly now.

thanks for the advice. however, because I was a newish driver when I first got the car, I'm not the primary on it. So I don't want anyone else to take the hit on their insurance, it wouldn't be an honourable thing for me to do. I will fix it as a project. It will cost me between 5 and 10k I guess. Probably 8k if I get the bumper, headlight, etc etc used. but if anyone knows a Z that has a good front end, I'd want it for parts. Thanks.

Maroli,
Admit it.. There was no "friend"...

-seriously, your friend deserves a beating.. but only after he cough's up the $10-$15k it will cost to completely repair your z.
I hope you factored in the paint skills necessary to blend it all together...

GL man, don't let retards drive the z.

The choice is definately yours, but with 10k down, you can pick up a sweet car which is newer and a lot better. Might as well upgrade. I know there are some z obsessed guys here but I see little kids driving z's all the time now. You even see guys buying these cars as their first car.
This is a chance to upgrade.
When my bro hit the rsx which was under my name, i had him start his own insurance and so I don't get affected by it, the insurance company made me sign a paper saying that I wasn't the driver at the time and had him sign that he was the driver. They comfirmed with my brothers new insurance policy whether my bro was paying the premium for his accident and took it of my record.
You can do the above, if not, I hope it works out for you bro. But 10k definately gets you a down payment towards a nice car. I'm putting 15k down for my Porsche next month and payments are quite comfortable.

yes, do tell. I love Porsches.

To answer your previous question, I just got a new job, which is paying quite a bit more than my old job. Even so, I was going to keep the Z for the next three years until I'm done my MBA and have a new job, and THEN get an 07 Vantage or 07 GT3 or 11 Evora...that's why I'm fixing this car up. I don't want to be in debt when I'm doing my MBA. This car will be mostly paid off and then I can treat myself. I was seriously considering getting a new car, but this seals it so it may be a blessing in disguise.
