Default Nismo's 400hp kit

Just came from the dealer. Nismo has 2 packages produced and ready to ship. One is a chip only which will retail about $700 and the other is the chip and exhaust system (may include CAI) for $2500-2700. The second pkg will produce about 400 hp. No info on how much hp the chip alone will add.

Man, I've become a cynic. Chip, exhaust and possible CAI doesn't equal 400 hp. Dealer BS.

Default So, what happens to the warranty?

I have recently purchased my Touring with most extras right off the showroom. Only saw one cross in front of me in traffic for the first time the day before I decided and bought one. To be honest, I didn't even know the new Zs existed before that chance sighting. I have been intrigued by forum discussions concerning HP upgrades to the the Z, but, won't any modification void the warranties?

Clyde, no offense man, but come on! A chip, exhaust, and CAI do not = 400hp. A huge stretch would be 40hp to the crank!

All kidding aside, is Nismo producing a chip?

I want all my performance upgrades to be Nismo made.

I want the following if made by Nismo:

Chip
Headers (Maybe)
Exhaust
CAI (Not Nismo, but I'm going to use the Injen)

I just want a "little" more pull.

I want my Engine to pretty much stay N/A since it's my daily driver. I don't really see the point in dumping 5-6k in a car to go from my house to the store.

Aside from the ricer math from the always reliable dealer employees, noone has mentioned the obvious. $2500-$2700 for a chip, an exhaust, and an POSSIBLY an intake that produces 400 hp?????? I heard that Nismo had these made by the same company that sells the "magic server pixie dust" and the "magic business beans" on the IBM commercials. It damn well better include an electric supercharger for that price or I'm gonna be pissed.

This package also comes with an extra cup holder, in-glass FM antenna (that issue brings you back, doesn't it?), and Nismo stickers for maximum aerodynamics.

d00d, and then, Nismo is going to come out with the supercharger-turbo-turbine-combo later in the year that will increase the output to 750HP!!

Oh, and with it comes a nismo badge that lowers the coefficient of drag to 0.20. w00t!

Why do people believe in the words of dealers???

Chip, intake, and Exhaust should get 320hp at the crank.

Hubler Nissan in Indianapolis. They weren't sure of the additional upgrades that came with the $2500 + pkg. but they have stuck with the 400hp number.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! That's a good one. I'd be like, "Oh yeah, I actually read somewhere that they were only 3.4 lbs. Can you believe people just lie like that?"

Question Nismo

I actually heard too that Nismo will come out with a couple of kits this summer that add "significnat horsepower". The nissan press release states that first of the aftermarket parts are on the way this spring...then I beleive the 'kits' will be released.

Everyones always worried about Warranty this & Warranty that----F*ck-IT!
If your going to mod the car--then Warranty is probably gonna go out the window---becasue More HP(turbo or Forced wise) means the valvetrain will need uprgrading(Springs(valve)/Clutch and the like--that is if you get into the TURBO kits and thangs'--cuz Valvetrain upgrades VOID warranty--anything else will not pretty much!

If you go NA(all motor),..unless you get into the whole Piston/Rods,..(bottom end) work,...you will have nothing to worry about needing warranty work.
This comming from someone that has pretty much voided the warranty on EVERY CAr he's owned(and plans on voiding this one) and has had no problems w/ mods,..even Forced induction---If your worried about warranty--Ya shouold have bought a Toyota for thier TRD parts!!!

But either way--Warranty will always be an issue-(in Bronx voice:"Fahget ahbod it"---NISMO will probably not be able to make eveyrthing and if they do,..I would say you have WAY TO MUCH money!hahahah
Might as well put on some makeup and a dress & bend over---TO much Money,..and there are brands out there that will be released soon that will provide "like" hp numbers @ haf the price.Been through that will the whole Honda/Acura crew
--(ie.SKUNK2 Products make just as good'a quality products w/ the same if not more Hp gains then the JDM parts(Spoon/Mugen) that they are made from.)

Thats just my look on it!! Don't kill me!
I will take a NISMO chip Please!

i really doubt the 400hp claim.....but if i can get even 20hp out of the chip, i'll buy it....especially if nissan agrees that my warranty will stay intact.....last time i talked to the parts department at my dealer, i was told that some of the Nismo stuff would be Nissan approved, and some of it wouldn't
