Default Finally Dyno'd

Hello everone,

i would like to present my dyno, and would like input. I installed a JWT 530BB kit, 3 weeks ago. had a small oil leak and that was about it with issues. car runs strong, and I am quite happy.

Mod List:
  • JWT 530 TT (unmodded)
  • stock spark plugs (never changed them since i got the car 5 months ago)
  • HKS exhaust
  • stock cats
  • SS box (unmodded)
  • Volk 9.5 with 275 rubber (which was fishtailing a lil on the dyno)
Condition:
  • 91* weather
  • no special dyno fans (they put on that looks like a office desk fan infront)
  • no correction
  • Max boost was 7.2 PSI
  • A/F @ 3728rpm was 11.1 after that it was between 10.5-10.3
  • used their own dynodynamics A/F gauge. and I was told it reads richer that most. and HP ratings are low compared to others.

I would like to go to a colder plug (one step) and try test pipes, Hope I would yield more.

Congrats. +1 on the plugs. Test pipes will show hp/tq improvements also.

Definitely get rid of the stock cats. Test pipes will yield much more power.

+2 on getting one step colder spark plugs.

will plugs make a difference in power? the tech at the dyno said there were no signs of knock at all.

You need to find out what update he has on his Dyno Dynamics dyno. If he has the update with the auto correction HP numbers then id say yours are low, but id be willing to bet he doesnt and then add ~17% to your numbers which gives you close to 400rwhp.

Back in the day when i had my talon i only made like ~289awhp and was running 113mph and running 12.1s all day at the track.

If they dont have the update they read SUPER low, with the update some say they read high. I wouldnt use a Dyno dynamics dyno for numbers but to get the best tune you can from a dyno.

I have to say that does seem kind of low, i have the same kit and with stock exhaust and cats my car put out 376hp then after i put on the greddy TT evo exhaust i made 466hp. I would think at that amount of boost and exhaust you should be closer to 400hp....maybe some on in the know can shine some light on this. But hey as long as the car is running good with no problems great, have fun with the new power.

You gained 90whp from a Greddy Evo TT? Was this done on the same dyno, same boost level, same octane fuel, same EVERYTHING except the Greddy Evo TT?

well, I talked to JWT about it, and he told me its just right. plus there were no fans 95* no correction, as i am kinda at sea level. plus its a dyno dynamics. I beliebe they read lower than a dyno jet.

when you go from stock exhaust with stock cats to test pipes and 3" inch true duals, i would expect a huge gain on a turbo car. just to give you an idea, the guy who i bought my built motor and greddy tt ran stock exhaust and at 10psi he only put down 380whp.

I agree you'll see a gain but I doubtful of 90whp.

just using ricer math, at 10psi with free flowing exhaust should put you around the 450 to 480whp range. you do the math starting at 380whp.

Man... I'm not saying it isn't 100% posible. Just surprize I guess. Guess I need to look into replacing my 2.5" APS test pipes and my Stillen exhaust (damn x-pipe) for some extra poines.

test pipes are fine, the stillen is holding you back a bit. i wouldnt be surprised if you gained 20whp if you went with 3" inch exhaust. but then again this is all ricer speculation.
