06 with bolt on's First DYNO

had the NA car since new.. thru the years have put a few bolt ons and today was first time getting it dyno'd and chip tuned. 249 TORQUE 283 RWHP

are these numbers any good considering it's an 06?

seems a tad high. i would expect 260 to 270whp on a dynojet.

Madbomber Oct 15, 2009 11:40 AM

dyno was done on a mustang. heard mustang has closer to true RWHP or 15% lower than other brand dyno's.

Agreed, seems alittle high, and def not 15% less than most dynos would give you.

But it is possible...

mustangs are all over the place ive read where some mustang dyno's actually did the opposite of what you just claimed by reading 15% higher. who knows.

Too high......correction factor fail.

Madbomber Oct 15, 2009 12:15 PM

it's over 90F outside which probably didnt help. will take the numbers as ballpark figures to how the car is preforming.

wonder how raspy would be with test pipes! the car is loud and overbearing on long road trips but well worth the fun factor :)

nice car... should of caught the numbers on tape

What difference would that make?

SWEET!!!! I have a 06' with all the same mods and I was hoping to get that ballpark!! I think that dyno is accurate. Did you tune on 91 octane? The only thing I got on you is a grounding kit and 94 octane which allows more timing, and a few more ponies.. I'm not going to tune till next spring though.

You think the dyno is accurate because that's what you hope to make...........:icon14:. :icon22:.

Absolute numbers are pretty meaningless. It does look like the tune gave you a lot of gains. That is what counts.

91 octane tuning. should have asked him to add a race gas map to the cobb!

the tuner thought the numbers were high. infact the best numbers he has seen out of an 06. all the newer NA models got way better dyno numbers than 06 and previous years.

sudle performance gain felt in the drivers seat. smoother reving, more responsive throttle, and slightly faster acceleration.
