Weren't you asking for ApexN1 videos?
So we were out shooting photos today (I'll let Vandy post those later) and it dawned on us this would be a good chance to fire some video on his CANON G3.
Two videos... Launching... Drive by... |
Very nice vids. Thanks!
|
Thanks for the clips, sounds great! Too bad that exhaust costs like 100 million bucks... Give or take a peso or two..otherwise i'd get it.
|
Wow! I can only imagine how it sounds in person....
|
Nice, but couldn't have done longer vids?? That exhaust isn't that expensive btw...

How much is it? See the problem is we're shellin out this money for mostly sound(exhaust, intake, etc). If i pa 1200 bucks for sound, I want my car to actually sound like a tiger roaring, or maybe a t-rex. :>
|
$900 for both the y-pipe and the exhaust.
As for performance? Big difference... I would edge out a stock Z before with the plenum, now a stock Z doesn't stand a chance. |

Originally posted by phile Wow, I didn't expect 900 bucks for both a y-pipe and that exhaust...NICE! Got a question for you though. Did you lose any lowend power? Does the y-pipe and exhaust balance that out? Adams car... with headers, plenum, and cats... he and I are dead even from a dead start. I don't have the headers in yet... :icon10: From a roll however, I'll still admit my defeat! :( The piping is 2.5" throughout, until a good foot before the muffler where it opens up to 3". I believe this is a good balance for lowend torque, and high rpm hp. |
I thought exhaust, and y-pipes sacrificed low-end for high-end hp. That's just what i've heard, I actuall have no real idea :)
Hmm...would a true duel setup work better with headers? |

That's just what i've heard, I actuall have no real idea :) Hmm...would a true duel setup work better with headers? The y-pipe DOES give better flow, thus less backpressure... and in turn MAY hurt lowend. Balancing it out, will be the headers... I think I'll have a near perfect setup. We'll see though! As for true duals... I haven't enough knowledge to comment. The Stillen made the most power of the group, and the Borla is not far behind. Not enough have dyno'd single pipes. |
Yeah, that sounds right. Headers, y-pipe, exhaust is prolly a nice balance. I'd be curious to see a dyno on the stuff in your sig (PLUS headers) either with and without high-flow cats. Since the y-pipe already flows more, the cats may cause a sacrifrice in the powerband sommewhere. What would be more interesting is 1/4 times with and without hf cats.

Originally posted by Noize Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder. ;) Everytime I mash the go pedal, I remember vividly why I bought a family sedan. Adam, nice pics. The wheels look awesome, especially the rear ones. Check out pics of that built vq motor in the FI forums. It's supposed to make around 600rwhp |
Don't get Seth (Noize) started about how he feels about the VQ motor... ;)
|
But how can't anyone appreciate that built motor...it's so sweet!
