Weapon R Powersteering and Weapon R Coolant Overflow tanks installed Attachment 427637 Attachment 427638 First thing is first the coolant over flow tank is easy to install and straight forward. No need in explaining it uninstall oem one and pull it straight out lol. now for the powersteering pump take out the 3(10mm) bolts and then there is a clip on the back of the tank use a flat head to pop it up then slide it off the tank. now its prepped for takeoff. the bracket on the back will not go back on. **NOTE** YOU WILL BE SPILLING LOTS OF FLUIDS TO BE PREPARED FOR THAT AND MAKE SURE YOU PICK UP SOME POWERSTEERING FLUID AND COOLANT. Attachment 427639 Now there is alot required to install the powersteering pump make sure you are up to the challenge and it will be a all day affair pending tools and resources. First thing is first 1. Grinder or something to cut metal with. Hacksaw would be good 2. a 10mm long jegs hose and a 12mm jegs hose.(by that i mean hoses that can hold liquid 3. Clamps to fit the new jegs hose you bought. 4. Tools of course lol. Now you will need to cut the tip of the smaller size off. because its shaped wrong and hose will not fit above that bead. Cut like below. Attachment 427640 Attachment 427641 Ok now here comes the hard part and the part where you might bleed for the Car haa. You need to pull out the two power steering hoses. Pull the clamps up and get to work. the bigger hose is easy as its reachable. Now the smaller hose is a pain in the Ass. there is a beaded end and the way i got it off was to twist and wiggle until i got it up top then pull pull pull. Attachment 427642 Attachment 427643 now here is the replacement hoses i bought you will need to cut them to length the match the hoses you took out of the Z Attachment 427644 Attachment 427645 Now install the new hoses in there respective locations. of course the 10mm hose goes in the lower portion. use the clamps you bought to tighten it down Attachment 427646 The the 12mm hose goes in the upper portion. use the clamps you bought to tighten it down Attachment 427647 Now that is completed install the weapon r powersteering tank. again use the clamps you bought to tighting the hoses to the top of the can. Install the weapon r coolant overflow tank now. its simple one bolt LOL Attachment 427648 Job completed. this took me and my friend about 6hours to install but if you have all the tools before hand and hoses its will take 2 hours tops. Dont forget to clean out your enginebay from all the fluid that spilled out. Make sure you fill the tanks back up and Go test drive it around to make sure your not leaking fluid and everything works accordingly Attachment 427649 Attachment 427650 Attachment 427651 **NOTE** THE POWERSTEERING TANK WILL BE AT A SLIGHT ANGLE DUE TO THEM MAKING THE BRACKETS NOT LONG ENOUGH. BUT WORKS PERFECTLY FINE. |
nice write up but does the new PS tank have to sit at a slant like that?
and do you have a full picture of your car that you can post or send me? |

I have one, how much/ how do you tell what level to keep fluids at?
|
Good question. I'm looking to replace my reservoir (different brand-baffled unit) and I'm curious if it's harmful to have too much power steering fluid or people's opinions/experience on this.
