installed pics, and dyno results coming soon!
|
i cant wait to get this installed on my car! looks great!
|
Interesting
No injectors , fuel pump , supporting mods w that pricing?? |
as of right now, we offer it basically as a "tuner" kit with/or with out turbo/w.g./b.o.v.
soon will release a pro kit with injectors, pump, and uprev. we a currently designing our own fuel system for the vq... so we are waiting for that to wrap up before we offer that version... but we do sell drop in injectors, pump and a uprev tune for a add on price. |
bump!

Very cheap for a turbo kit...
Has anyone from here installed and ran one of these before? |
installation in process ! pics up soon
|
Sooooo
|
.... any progress??
|
the turbo we decided to go with came in on friday from precision turbo, so we should begin the actual install today! i was hoping it would be a little sooner, but either way everything is a go now. so pics and all that good stuff will soon follow! thanks for the patience!
|
I'm in for updates...Boost is my next progression on my list to do so it would be nice to see what's new...
|
TN/GODSPEED turbo kit replica? what is the difference (besides turbo) between this kit compare to those ?specs on pipings (size) ?will this kit have the same problem as the other kit (heat problem on intake pipe,a/c line)? sorry not trying to hate on your kit so far the best thing i can see is you using a precision turbo already better than those kit by a mile.this was the setup i actually wanted awhile back as a project kit those pipings w a 6262 turbo.cant wait to see the build

thamtac209- there are only a certain amount of paths piping can be routed in a z/g engine bay, so i would say this piping path would be more similar to a turbonetics style kit compared to lets say... bp.
Cux350z- attention to detail! yes, that pic ould be the pro kit, but we are still up in the air on the injectors and and little things that would complete that kit... 2 injectors was example of all 6, and the usb would be for the UpRev  |

No injectors , fuel pump , supporting mods w that pricing?? correct Since so many people are partial to different fueling and ecu options, we decided to just let the user make the decision. I think on RevolvedZ's car, he will be having JGY use Uprev to tune it. I know that JGY does alot of Haltech, so that would also be an option for installs there. It also keeps the core cost/sale price down. There's nothing wrong with complete packages, such as turbo kits that include drill bits, taps, and teflon tape. Some people like that. But for many, having the core of the kit, the parts that people can't/don't want to make, available is a plus. I think the pricing is awesome. |

I don't think you are hating at all. Good questions/comments. (although, the best thing is the turbo? come on!!):) I suggested the 6262, because it's a very common turbo, and performs very well. JGY works closely with Precision and has since 2004. (damn.....long time) The install guy/test monkey/parts breaker was on the phone with them. Based on what he suggested he wanted and where he wanted it, they suggested he use a 5862 turbo T3 flange SP compressor cover 4 bolt exhaust, so that is what he did. It's very similar. I remember that the Momentum kit came with another A/C line that rerouted the line to prevent it from getting burned. I thought that was neat, but added cost to the kit. Specifically in this case for RevolvdZ's install, that would just make the kit cost more. He deleted his A/C already, so it's not an issue. But, we did make sure that the piping cleared the a/c stuff. But......yes, I do feel that it would cause an issue if the customer decided to not have the line changed. When we do SR installs, and the dude wants a/c, I normally just go grab some extra aluminum a/c lines from the box and tig weld the lines up and around what ever is in the way so that it works. photos anyone? |
I'm interested to see more photos, dyno results, track results, etc.

and dyno should be later I think but for track......I'm not sure if that car has seen a 1/4mile track yet. RevolvdZ, has it? |

:bowrofl: didnt know she was spoken 4. Lol This place is like prison sometimes. I just want finished results with good numbers. I could sell my headers and pay for half the kit.
Apparently Precision Turbo wanted to see good numbers, too. The wastegate was pre-set to 17psi. :-) The car did (don't have the chart in front of me) 225HP or so before Uprev NA, and before turbo kit, so, let's see what it makes. I think, I think, that he is going to have JGY dyno it with factory injectors to see how far they can go before running out of gas. I noticed they welded in a bung for a wide band right after the turbo before lunch. I wonder what the PSI maximum is for RevoldZ. If it was me, I'd go 5 or 6 and see what numbers I got before going higher. |
when will we expect install pictures and dyno? also i still never got an answer for one of my question ,about what the piping size are? oh and can i purchase just the pipings and turbo no intercooler and what would the price be?

75mm and 64mm for the intercooler piping (75 mm is at the TB inlet side) 51mm pre turbo, 62mm dump tube to a Vband, and then to 76mm all the way to your exhaust We are not producing these per order. They are pre-produced and are ready to ship at the above prices. If you don't want a section or don't need it, it still comes with the order. For example, our install on RevoldZ's does not use the recirc for the wastegate per his liking......so he just gets to keep it in the trunk :) As for photos, web lady shoes up here on Wednesday, so we will have photos up on our site then. Now.....RevolvdZ has been in the building taking photos with his phone.......why he hasn't posted any? I don't know. |
What kind of whp could you expect for someone with just an exhaust and spacer as its supporting mods? Thanks.

We shall see later this week on Revolvd's car on the dyno. Of course, it depends on the boost level. We designed this to easily support 100 to 150 extra WHP on the stock motor. Being in the SR20 world for over 15 years, the VQ is a great motor......but not a strong. With that said, pushing over 400HP at the wheels on a stock VQ is frankly, not as reliable as 400HP at the wheels with an SR. Both are great motors........but Nissan had different goals with each motor. The VQ is a great motor, but is designed differently than other Nissan motors. We know that alot of kits out there push that 400HP mark.......but frankly, we think that is a stretch for the VQ in stock form. We will be satisfied with 350HP at a safe PSI. RevoldZ is saying he wants 400HP. We will give him our opinion, but dial in what he wants. Don't forget, we are working with a platform that made 225HP or so.....so if we add 125HP, we will be happy. Now.......if the motor was built to handle more power, the turbo kit could easily handle 600HP at the wheels with the correct turbo/fuel/ecu mods. |
I wonder why that dude won't post photos.......maybe the bumper color is off or something? :icon18::icon38::icon30:

I found some photos there. It looks like it might have been a barn find. :icon30: |
I'm really interested to see how this build turns out. I'm super interested in this kit!
|
hey, another xxr fan
I have a set on my G35. |
the 100% complete lack of photos has me concerned
you would think with these kids and their phones that photos would be all over this thread by now...... maybe JGY doesn't allow phones in the building? |
R u an associate of jgy?
|
install is complete! now on to testing muahaha.
our facility is very high class, and in some areas highly top secret, cell phones are prohibited within 100 feet of the facility, and every one entering the building is strip searched and possibly probed by the owner. haha , but on a serious note, we update our web/photes every hump day, so i should have all the images uploaded today from the install, we made sure to take a photo of every piece being installed so we can make a picture perfect install write up for you guys :) thanks again for all the patience! |
^just a local fan boy hahaha
|
"stripped searched and probed".......that probably makes most people not want to go there:thumbup:......well, maybe unless you are into that sort of thing.....2004Black350z seems to mention "prison" often so maybe for him it might be an incentive
fan boy huh? hey, I don't wear tight fitting jeans and have a hat that too big for my head Where is RevolvdZ anyway? gun to the head? :suicide: |
Are you guys going to post the photos on here or just post the photos to your website and include a link to it? Thanks.
|
The photos should be on our site late this afternoon.
I think the web lady is going to put an install page on one of our sites. If you go to: http://www.jgymotorsports.com/350Z/turbokit.htm that is where the turbo kit is. I think she is putting a link there for the photos. |

She's working on them now. She said it might take 2 hours before they are up.
She is making a new page for them. We gave her probably too many.......but at least you can see the install. The fitment is really good. Obviously, we have these made. For that price, you can't make that stuff in-house. But, nothing really got lost in translation so to speak. The fitment and quality of the welds are as if we DID make it in house. You will see. |
Great photos!!! I'm really interested in seeing what dyno results he gets. Is he running stock exhaust and headers? No plenum spacer...interesting.
|
the car is running a 3" single exit exhaust, stock headers, no spacer. the current stage of this project is to show how much power can be made at the lowest cost. were trying to make boost attainable for the budget minded ! but of course the dyno results will say what the story is
|
|
the first photo........
why is the lift so low? :icon30: |
put your g on the lift and buy a kit and find out why!

I may just buy one. |
Really like this setup. Hope the dyno results turn out good.

RevoldZ, shoot for the stars.
Maybe one day you can be in the 7000 plus torque club like me. It's a neat club. John Force gives out great Xmas gifts. His daughter is a hugger though.....and you know how I feel about that. http://www.jgycustoms.com/serg20/images/4200tmp.pdf http://www.jgycustoms.com/serg20/images/4200tmp.pdf I'll give you the same advice that Deion Sanders gave me about the Mile High club. You need to work up to that. Start with elavators, then move to bridges........don't get in the first 737 you see and whip it out. |
