INGS LX/Half Kit: Received and Being Installed *PIX*
Well, as several of you guys may know, I had always wanted to get the INGS LX kit on my car. I just loved the way this kit looked, but for some reason, not many people had this kit. I started doing some searching and price comparisons and I soon learned that the reason nobody really bought the kit was because it was so darn expensive! Well, I searched for replicas, but I realized that was not the right path to take. Instead, I thought I'd save my money and put only quality parts on my car.
So finally, I decided that it was time to order my kit back in October 2005. I got a paint estimate done and discussed with my painter/installer how much everything could be done for. Then I searched for a place that could get my an Authentic kit in Hybrid Aero, and I finally found that place in November 2005, and left the shop a deposit. Well, my kit took forever to arrive here (as is generally the case when you order any geniune JDM Parts). Of course, by the time I finally got my kit in, it seemed like a bunch of people ordered replicas of the kit. :( It's all good since I possibly would have done the same if I hadn't ordered. ;) But I'm glad I went with the Authentic because it is INCREDIBLY light! I honestly could not believe how light it was, yet it had the same flex as polyurethane! I dropped off my car on April 3 and here I am now without my car for almost 2 weeks, and I'm really anxious to see the final results! But I know that the guy who is installing it is going to do a remarkable job, and I won't lie to you, I had to pay an equally remarkable (read: HIGH!) price. I chose to get my work done at Sixteen Customs in Gardena, CA since I know that the guy there (Hiro) does an awesome job. Two weeks before my car was there, he completed HKS's Evo (put on a C-West kit), and now while my car is there, he is working on the C-West/ZeroSun G35 demo car (for C-West USA). So I know his work is top notch! I figured the whole project was only going to take about 10 days to do, but I guess it's taking a bit longer to get done. Of course, Hiro is a super-meticulous Japanese guy (he's JDM, yo!) and likes to make sure everything is absolutely flawless. He even looked at my spoiler and found a very small flaw in the paint (this was installed LAST summer), and he mulled over what he can do to fix it. He then suggested to me that he will do what he can, and he'll probably go ahead and repaint it for me as well! Then when I pointed out some various rock chips around the car, he said not to worry, and that he would go around the car make sure the car left his shop flawless! Anyways, I basically I bought the INGS LX kit in Hybrid Aero. So I am getting the front lip, side skirts, and rear valance painted. Also, I bought a new OEM front bumper that he can repaint (mine had chips on it), and he agreed to repaint my rear bumper for the sake of consistency, since the OEM paint on the bumper didn't really much the rest of the body (stupid Nissan...). Also, he agreed to semi-smoke my OEM 2006 LED taillights and rear bumper lights. I know I told many of you guys that I would be posting pix of the install/progress, but I just didn't have time until now. Well, here are the pix thus far! ings+1 box: http://xs76.xs.to/pics/06150/IMG_4006.jpg Sideskirts (one being prepped, the other straight out of the box): http://xs76.xs.to/pics/06150/IMG_3955.jpg http://xs76.xs.to/pics/06150/IMG_3956.jpg http://xs76.xs.to/pics/06150/IMG_3959.jpg Authentic ings+1: http://xs76.xs.to/pics/06150/IMG_3958.jpg http://xs76.xs.to/pics/06150/IMG_3973.jpg Front and rear pieces: http://xs76.xs.to/pics/06150/IMG_3966.jpg New OEM front bumper and ings sideskirt: http://xs76.xs.to/pics/06150/IMG_3968.jpg OEM rear bumper being prepped for repaint: http://xs76.xs.to/pics/06150/IMG_3970.jpg OEM front bumper in Sixteen Customs paint booth after being painted: http://xs76.xs.to/pics/06150/IMG_3989.jpg Ings pieces and OEM rear bumper in paint both: http://xs76.xs.to/pics/06150/IMG_3990.jpg http://xs76.xs.to/pics/06150/IMG_3991.jpg Lightly Smoked LED Taillights in paint both: http://xs76.xs.to/pics/06150/IMG_3994.jpg http://xs76.xs.to/pics/06150/IMG_3996.jpg My car, not looking so complete... What brand rear spoiler is that?
|
Love it. Hurry and get that bad boy on....
|
|
Thanks guys. The rear spoiler is also ings, but I had that one for almost a year. Yeah, and I want to get it back quick, but at the same time I understand that you don't want to rush the body shop since he wants to make sure it's perfect. And the above picture is about right...except no Brembo's for me :( (plus the spoiler is different and my taillights are going to be nearly stock color, just barely darker).

Man, lookin good, looking good. Just got home haha--I can't wait for mine =(
ravi |
Well lookit Amit doing some exterior sexifying! woo woo!
-B- |
Ravi, when you getting yours in? I guess our convo ended short last night, so I don't recall you telling me when it's in!
I'll be updating with more pix on Tuesday. He actually said I can pick it up on Tuesday, but he said he wants to make sure the paint has some time to cure before installing to ensure that the paint won't accidentally get damaged! So I was looking at probably Friday, but now I see there's a chance for rain!!! Oh well...what's another 3 days! |

Looking Good!!! Your photos reminds me of an anxious father looking at his newborn through the glass of a neonatal unit:) Definitely show us the final pix when it is all done. We "brothers" should then get together and take some photos :icon38:

TURBO?? :D -B- |
Sweet...I bet by having the all the pieces painted together (included OEM) everything will blend nicely.
|
Amit,
My bad about that =/ I had to freak chicks last night  LMAO Anyway, the front lip should be here this week, still havent sourced the rear, and I'm getting worried =( If you can help me find one in FG I'd greatly appreciate it. I dont want to spend more than 300 shipped for the rear. Patrick and Amit, we def have to meet up this summer at the hearst castle meet. What a SICK ASS photo opportunity would that be? Man, thats new wallpaper for a year with all three of us. Amit's on the far left, me in the middle, and Patricks on the far right...*ohhh man* P.s. Your guy's parent's didnt sleep around did they? That would explain a lot ahahahha Ravi |

But if I get any info, I won't hessitate to contact you, of course! And yeah, I'm down for a photo shoot! Just make sure all our cars are ready by then... Yeah, our parents probably did sleep around...maybe yours included! Except you went the way of DB! :p |
LOL SO TRUE!!!
Hahah, I found the rear last night ;) Thanks so much man....yeah always been a little..uhm... different *coughs* ahahhaha I'm sure you can validate this bro, Ravi |
Good stuff! Where did you end up getting it from? Also, when are you taking it into the body shop?
|
Goes into the shop first week of may *crossing fingers*. Ordered from site's previous sponsor (automotive mods).:icon38: :icon39:
ravi |
Hahah...good stuff! The way my project is going, I wouldn't be surprised if your car gets out of the shop before mine! :icon17:
|
LOL don't feel bad bro..I know it's got to be torture!!
I am super excited, you know how long we've been waiting to do this (search our old posts, way back till 03 and 04 we were talking about this haah). Surely your car will be done--even the utmost perfectionist would be done in two weeks IMO. Over that and your guy is just SLOW...I can't wait to see the finished product, shoudl be impressive. Can you hit me about the tinting we discussed (shipping them to you etc etc). ravi |
haha...EVENTUALLY it will get done...right now I'm stuck driving a 1992 Mazda MPV! But no, it's not all bad. At least I can recline the seat for a lunch-time nap! lol
But as for tinting, including the reverse? Or just the tails? I'll find out for you tomorrow. |
Tails only, but for the most part (97%) my shop will just do it.
|
wow lots of silver cars @ that shop. waiting to see how your baby comes out!
|
Damn thats so tight I'm SUPER jealous dude...
Sheeeit... Can't wait now =( |
more pix of the car or BAN!!! :p
|
I love the tail's man. Im trying to get mine done...........show me more pics of it!:D
|
hahah good job amit is always fun with lots of pics threads. Cant wait to see ur car.
|
Werd he's the brown guy version of barbara walters hahahaha I refresh his posts lol....
of course he's my homie so yeah hahahaha ravi |
I really like the tasteful way you have gone about choosing this bodykit. I love the taillight tint as well...it is just the right amount; not the obnoxious level some people take it to. Very nice! Subscribing for the fresh-out-of-the-shop pics.
|
hell probably start a completely different thread when he gets it back. :D
B |
Congrats!
I saw your car when I was at Hiros last week arrange for some work done for myself as well... SXTN CUSTOMS' work has always been great for my personal cars and work cars :thumbup2: |
How good is the color matching ?
|
Thanks guys for the comments! I was thinking of actually taking a day off and picking it up Friday, but we have a mandatory meeting at work that I can't miss! Maybe I'll just take off early to pick up the car then...we'll see.
More pix will definately come in the next few days! It's always more fun to see pictures then here someone talk about stuff happening. I will probably go ahead and start another thread for actual pix (vs. installation pix) and I'll post a link here. In terms of color-match, I honestly don't have a clue how close it is since my car was several feet away and he didn't want me to touch the pieces just yet. I do think the match will be pretty good, though, since Hiro usually does an awesome job! Will: what car did you take in? I saw a few G35 sedans, a couple of G35C's, but I don't recall seeing another Z? What work are you looking to get done? |
but that was your chance to get an '06 front bumper and the '06 ings+1 half lip for it
|
Blah--
IMO the 06 looks anemic compared to the previous mods. I wouldn't update even if it was free. The front looks way to bulgy on the 06+ings half setup. ravi |

Hiro did paint work on my M3, my coworkers RX8 and the work Evo that you saw there. I think of all the times that I have went there...I can could about 7 Zs that had work done there...its not the cheapest place..but its the best that I know of in the area! |

Also, as an update, I went in and checked out how everything was going. Basically everything is done and one of the guys was mounting the sideskirts. He'll need to tweak it a bit, but it should be good to go! The smoked reverse lenses are a lot darker than I had hoped, but oh well, I'll see if I like them once they go on. If not, I'll just trade with someone's stock + $$$ and get mine re-done lighter.
Besides that, he said he's going to go ahead and remove the rear trunk spoiler, repaint it, and then put it back on. Hiro said he should be done by Friday, but I donno...if not, then I'll have to pick it up on Monday. He said he would let me know by Thursday evening when it should be done so I can make arrangements to go pick it up on Friday! Last comment: the sides are REALLY REALLY low! OMG...I don't know how I'm going to drive this thing! I was thinking about lowering it more, but I guess not now! EDIT: I just realized that the rear was kind of lifted, so I don't know if I got an accurate view of the sides...hopefully they're not as low as they looked! I mean it looks really cool, but then again this IS my DD! Pix to come in the evening, BTW. |
